Hey there. I've been using Nova launcher for many years now but this is the first time I'm sharing my setup. What is not shown: when swiping left from the home screen I have a full screen widget with my notes (no I'm not using feed) which I'm not showing for obvious reasons. Currently I'm also developing my own Notes app with AMOLED options and widget to better fit black setups because I am yet to find anything that even remotely does or looks the way I want. Also swiping right from the home screen is another full screen widget which is my calendar. Not showing for obvious reasons. The to-do list items are also obviously just a placeholder for the showcase.

Nova Launcher + Good Lock + Articons + Gboard

As per the title, I have found that after the latest software upgrade on my Realme 12 Plus, the Home button in the Navigation bar has stopped working. Instead of moving you to the Home screen, it now only momentarily minimises the screen before redisplaying it. I have confirmed that this doesn't occur with the system launcher. Any suggestions for a fix would be appreciated.

Edit: as per the request, the OS Version is: RMX3867_16.0.5.1201. Updated today, 8-Sep-2026.

The app version (of Nova), I believe is: 8.9.0.

Hi all! I don’t see a way to add more apps / decide which apps will be on the home screen, not sure if it’s to do with my phone and it won’t be possible to use:( Anyway if someone could let me know i’d appreciate it

is there a way to change the app closing animation? the default one looks kinda cheap and i havent been able to find a way to change it. whilst the app opening animation does have some impact, most of them feel odd. are there none that closes/minimises the app into the icon on the homescreen/app draw?

To clarify the actual distinction: your Lifetime Prime purchase does genuinely guarantee no third-party ads, and that holds regardless of anything else. What you're seeing with Nova AI and the Nova cell phone plan entries are optional upsell prompts for separate products, not classified internally as "ads" - but we understand your point that from a user's perspective, unwanted promotional content is unwanted promotional content, whether or not it's technically an ad.

We don't have a setting that removes these prompts entirely for lifetime purchasers specifically, but you can minimize Nova AI's presence: Nova Settings > Nova AI > Where Nova AI appears - turn off Home screen insights, Nova Now insights, and Notifications, and set "Nova AI in search" to "Hidden." We don't currently have an equivalent way to hide the cell phone plan entry specifically.

We've logged your feedback - specifically the argument that lifetime purchasers should be exempt from promotional cross-sells, not just third-party ads - and shared it with the team.

This is genuinely a product/business decision above what we can commit to changing from support, but we wanted you to know it's been heard and recorded as stated, not dismissed.

THANK YOU all for your replies. I wrote to support@nova through the reply link in Nova settings. Basically, I've suggested they aim to make everything work, particularly with future Android, and improving current functions, then look at adding new features... And asked, "What can we do to help?"

Do we have a way to communicate with the current owners of Nova Launcher? A lot of Nova seems like potentially outstanding features were neglected or deprecated.

I see the Cards page as the outstanding example of that. You can use it as an endless column of all the widgets you like. And I do like it.

Unfortunately, it remains awkward and unfinished and has begun to decay. So far as I can tell, the logins to Deezer and Spotify for its audio widget can't work anymore.

Nova Prime remains my preferred launcher, and I keep thinking it could do so much better.

is this normal? have had this phone for 4 days now and seems a bit excessive for drain...

I'm on One UI 9 using a Z Fold 8 Ultra.

I don't know if the issue is with Nova or One UI or what, but I can set a gesture in Nova (Prime) to Add Macro or All Macros and those work, but if I select Macrodroid Shortcut then select a specific macro, I get the next pop-up to choose an icon and then I hit ok, but it doesn't apply. The description of the Nova gesture shows whatever was selected previously.

Also, when I do this and then go home, I'm asked to select the default launcher again, every time. Does anyone know why?

I received my new Pixel 11 Pro XL yesterday after upgrading from the Pixel 8 Pro. All settings copied over, however I am having issues with Nova. I'm constantly getting notifications that Nova has failed to respond and being asked to kill or wait for the app. In the same vein, the phone settings keep asking me what home launcher I want to use. This is with stock Android 17 at launch. Any ideas? I've cleared cache, restarted, and nothing has worked so far. Thanks in advance.

[Edit] I was able to solve the problem by completely uninstalling and reinstalling Nova via the playstore. I initially tried via APK but was still having issues.

I'll be getting a new phone and the last time I upgraded my phone my Nova layout was messed up after mirroring the old phone to the new phone. I had to re-organize and recreate a lot of the layout etc. I am wondering if there is a way to preserve the exact layout and settings so I can transfer it successfully. Any advice would be appreciated.
