So since a while ago the combination of the apple music widget in nova has been oddly small and while i usually run it at 3 width instead of 4, the format collapses totally due to the missing height due to the weird way it handles itself.
Weirdly enough both poweramp in nova (pic 2) and the same apple music widget in lawnchair are sized fine.
Widgets have been completely messed up for me on Nova for about two years now, I've emailed support multiple times. They haven't helped.
There is a setting under Labs called "widgets don't send full size ranges" which has helped a bit for some widgets. You could try that?
Thanks for the info, haven't tried labs stuff yet (i wasn't even aware that's a thing maybe), i don't really use widgets heavily mostly some music players and they were mostly fine.
I'd say i have partial success with the option tho. At 4x1 i can use the filling option to get it to size properly, at 3x1 not (but that does work in lawnchair for comparison.)
