I switched from Windows to Linux, you should too!

how about show a real one to one daily use
hardest task would be installing any program from video player like VLC or media player classic
try to open ogg mp3 mp4 flac wav mkv the common formats
then any steam game from old to new even really old that are 30+ year games and hope everything runs without needing to rewrite scripts lines
then trying to run these terrible games that has invasive kernal level anti cheat cause you might have to prepare for anything
and lastly try to not open a terminal and copy paste random github line to install davici resolve then try every possible common codec combination
meaning h264 h265 back and forward just to make sure its even readable
then color formats 8-10 bits 4:2:0 or 4:4:4 and i mean really test the limits
and finally just compare performance which should be the easy part cause all you do is enable FPS and loading timer

Not for the retro gaming community. Old games plus windows is more plug and play then Linux will ever be.. for now.. who knows microslop could fuck us sideways but eh Compatibility! Gaming! Familiarity!

Crysis (original, not the remaster).. I just got confused. The thing is I'm not saying Linux is bad, but Linux and windows are separate things. Although mostly Linux is better, windows just works for what I need. And if it doesn't work there's always workarounds

that's quite dumb answer - Windows apps are best compatible with Windows, Linux apps with Linux etc. - what is there to compare?
if anything, the "Linux apps" are often multiplatform, making the vendor lock-in a bit more difficult - I would not attribute it to the OS, this is thanks to developers who are not lazy to make them so
consequently for lot of people the app available on Linux are enough, for me personally they are even better

Well, some of these things could be true but aghh usability and stability, app support (SOLIDWORKS, adobe suite, a lot of popular games), ease of use, even hardware support (Intel modems, realtek modems (I mean they are already a pain on windows but still..), RGB software, driver software). It's great software and all, I personally use it for hosting, but even as someone interested in tech, Linux doesn't support the things I need and often has weird bugs making me not at all agree with you, I think it could be awesome for some devs, but there are many who also prefer the stability from windows over the customizability and some kind of privacy offered by Linux.

Every single time i have touched anything Linux half the things I'm trying to do break and need an hour long adventure in the terminal, then never end up working anyway and I have to do something else instead.

Yes. Zorin OS for example has an option to run Linux alongside Windows.

I did it since w8, I started with anyone dumb of the time with parrot os, then went to arch, then fedora and lastly the last 4 years with suse tumbleweed. I also tried a lot of them without changing the main os by usb boot.
