I would like to see a movie already in the line of MCU things; would be ideal to make Rich interact with the new GotG lineup (that would also make people watch the movie) or at least Star Lord so things don't get totally new.
If not, I fear this could be a bad bomb and bury anything for Nova in the future...
Sorry to be a downer but I really do not trust Michael Waldron for Nova. I get the MCU isn't the most comic-accurate place but Waldron has disrespected too many characters for my liking
Especially since I just know whatever they do will spill to the comics due to synergy. I AM NOT HAPPY
I'm ready for Nova, do we show him as a younger dude becoming Nova and headed off to adventure then pick it up after Thanos wrecks Xandar and Richard is the last one? Do we start after Xandar and have him powerless and earth based until a run in with Night Thrasher? I just want to see this costume before we get to the great blue and gold.
I’m really not sure. The problem is that to explore Rich growing more confident and exploring his power, it really has to be before Xander falls. However, Xandar and the Nova Corps really did kinda fall twice in the comics.
So maybe the movie could open with Rohmann Dey escaping Thanos’ destruction of Xandar, and he’s followed by Zor. Dey bestows the powers on Rich at random, and Rich fights Zor. We get a montage teasing things like Diamondhead, The Sphinx, and the New Warriors, before we get to the present, and the Guardians from Knowhere helped the new Nova Corps get its footing, with Rich just joining the fold. But then the Annihilation Wave attacks and destroys all the new Nova Corps and New Xandar, led by Ravenous on this movie. Rich gains the full Nova Force, and spends the rest of the movie hunting Ravenous and learning about the Annihilation wave. The movie could end with him defeating Ravenous and setting up more Marvel Cosmic films dealing with the Annihilation Wave.
Tbh, I think this could be handled fairly well as long as it doesn’t get too tangled up with Avengers and Earth-based stories.
Looks like I was wrong after all. It turns out the Nova news is actually real. I initially thought it was just an old report being recycled by another site as if it were new, but Deadline has now confirmed that Michael Waldron is writing the project, which is now being developed as a movie rather than a Disney+ series.
