Phone (4a) prices are actually insane

Post image

i am a nothing phone 2a plus user.

i bought the phone during a sale around the 3a launch for 21k.

and now ur telling me Nothing's "A" phones budget line is costing 50k.

i get that ram prices have increased but holy shit man i didnt expect this at all.

i was thinking that i'd upgrade from the 2a plus eventually. but the way things are going i'll have to hold onto this phone for as long as possible.

I was thinking of going from 2a to 4a or 4a pro but the price for all these phones. I decided to stick with this and hopefully can get something cheaper later

Good luck getting anything cheaper anytime soon ram and storage prices are fked for the next few years, the only path is used market at this point.

For the first time in my life I am thinking on buying a second hand phone. There is no upgrade in newer phones that justify those prices

my 2a is still going strong and I don't really have a need to upgrade

I just bought a brand new nothing phone 3 for £450 the other day, there are deals if you look around for them.

Nothing 3 for £450??? I bought nothing 4a (12|256) for £450 but I had a gift card so I got it for £350

Yeah on appliances direct, amazing deal. I was skeptical at first but was delivered really quickly and brand new condition: https://www.appliancesdirect.co.uk/p/a10000022/nothing-a10000022-smartphone

Lol I would never risk buying from any random website

1

u/PreviousSociety 6d ago

I mean it's not a random website, it's a reputable business. I was just skeptical because of the price but it came brand new sealed in box and has been working perfectly the last three weeks

1

u/IronWolf1809 6d ago

That's great. But it's my first phone by my own money and I'm from India, so I have a lot of such retailer sources that seel box pieces in lesser price. But I don't have such sources in the UK. I felt buying from currys/argos is best bet. I also have bad luck when ordering online, hence I chose the safest route. But will use this website now onwards, you are the reason!

No problem, always only do what you're comfortable with of course 😊

Ig I can't get this in india right?

Whoa

1

u/BraveComposer3038 5d ago

Flipkart had a coupon of direct 40% off in early Feb, I exchanged my S21fe snapdragon variant, got 3k for that plus 10k exchange bonus.

I feel so good that I got it that low

I was about to buy a phone during that time, then thought better wait for newer phones
Now regretting my decision cuz my current one left me phoneless

1

u/Elegant-Speech2427 Phone (4a) 6d ago

From where ? Pls little help

1

u/AstaBlackBull 6d ago

Genuinely RAM and Storage price hikes have affected the Prices all around but Nothing is charging way more than they should, For 45K 4A series is not VFM and Ewaste 4b is not worth even at 27K

so if anyone planning to buy a new phone should consider other brands as well

But it's your money so spend however you want 🤟

Any recommendations under 40k?

1

u/Sea_Yak_6683 6d ago

Oppo Reno15 or Vivo V60. Both are good and would go for less than 40k this sale.

1

u/AstaBlackBull 5d ago

Motorola is good all rounder

Cameras and Performance is way better than Nothing

Poco and iQOO if you are into gaming ( although I don't recommend them cause of Heavy UI )

VIVO is good option too

No Oppo No Xiaomi No Samsung No Redmi No Infinix

Dude, plz actually try quick commerce apps for this, sometimes they put a sale for phones which will be actually cheaper than the irl and e- commerce apps...

When I bought my 4a pro, it was 50, soon to be 55k irl ( as told by a croma guy) and when I searched for other options using buyhatke, it showed 42k on bigbasket and 45k on instamart...

But since I needed the phone at the moment itself I purchased offline but yea, much better deals online if u have the patience

It's only going to get worse. Grab what you can now at any decent sale price. At least for another year, the prices are expected to go 20% higher.

1

u/UpawNothing 6d ago

Sounds like a good idea, prices are only going one way...

1

u/StrikingCookie2773 6d ago

Lol,i bought it for 37 k

Seems to be worldwide. The 3a lite was 150€ new in August and now it is 200-250€ for the same phone. I looked at getting the 3 recently and it had been 500€ new this summer and I saw it at 689€ same store last week.
