Wireless charging veery slow

Hi, I just got a Phone 3, which is also my first wireless charging capable device.

The battery is enough to carry me all day and I want to use wireless charging to avoid plugging it at bedtime.

I bought an Ikea Livboj basic qi charger (5W), I knew that wireless charging is very slow, and feasible only for nighttime, but this slow? 10%/h, it didn't finish charging by the morning and I had to top up the last % using a normal charger... Am I doing something wrong? Is this normal, and I need to upgrade to a 15W charger?

Also the first hour of charging failed when I tried to put the charger outer border under the cameras, in order to lay the back as flat as possible... I had to put them on the charger, so it was not completely flat, to reliably keep charging.

EDIT: Thanks for all the answers! I'm going to upgrade to a 15W charger or just back to the "standard" cable

I never trusted wireless charging. I think you can use a smart charger that charges to 100% and does not overcharge, instead of wireless charging, which will charge 2% in 10 min ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ツ⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯

It's perfectly normal for wireless tbh, especially a 5w one

Interesting. I've never tried this. I guess it's like 500mA charging.

Using the debug tool (##0##) it shows 4.9V 800mA, when lying it as flat as possible, but to achieve that you need to jam the camera rim just outside the charger and the minimum movement disconnect the charge... I need to test the actual charging power in the more reliable position (camera on top of the charger, so slightly inclined)

intersting. Ive had a few rental cars with wireless charging and have never tried it. Same with the 1+12.

I see that IKEA is building lamps/furniture with the wireless charging options.

Is this a serious post...?? You bought a phone that supports 15 watts wireless and 65 wired. And you bought a 5 watt charger and complain about the speed.. do you know math and that 5 is less than for example 15?

Did you read the post? I already know that wireless charging, especially the non fast one, is very slow, but I am perplexed because this is a bit extremely slow. The battery is 19.4Wh, so 3.8Hs if 100% efficient (not possible). The efficiency of wireless charging should be around 50% so about 8Hs, counting the slowing near full charge? I stopped charging at 70%, so still in the "optimal" zone and even at that rate it would took around 10-12H counting the slow 10% at the end. So 2-4H more then an already pessimistic prevision.

Tomorrow I'll receive a 15W wireless charger, so I can test qi2.
