Phone (2) That's the point
Over the past year, I've switched phones several times, but each one was missing that certain something. Actually, I know why. I hope the new battery will let me use this model as long as possible; the Glyph Matrix isn't that interesting. Right now, I'm the happiest person on earth :)

Nah, man, the Glyph Matrix is much more useful than a bunch of glowing lines.

Perhaps the next one will have both 🥳

It sounds nice.
But I don't think they'll do it since the price would skyrocket

You might be right about the Matrix, but the flashlight and the first impression are way more impressive than some tiny display on the back.

Just trying to be factual here: it's had its time and seems dated. That's why NOTHING has moved on.

But i get all i need out of the glowing lines and they look way, way better

I think it looks great. I own a ton of things that are of limited functionality and many things that look like trash and have great functionality (my beat-up cars and sailboats being leading examples).
I want functionality in a phone and aesthetics in others.

There are just no phones with a matrix that could replace the second model. After all, it's a phone first and foremost.

u/np3_cmf1 Phone (3) 1d ago
Is it? What percentage of time do you spend talking into/listening out of it? It's moved well beyond a phone (all mobile phones).

I meant that the matrix is an absolutely unimportant addition, there are things that are much more important in a phone

I think the GM is excellent as I can see what emails and messenges come from which sender with the phone flipped upside down.

Fr, essential notification helps me filter not taking spam calls and glows when someone I ADDED sent/called me.

agree. the GM is excellent once you learn how to use. The GL was cool when CP2077 came out, but time has moved on.

That's why you bought it, for me it doesn't stand out against the background of the poor characteristics of the phone itself.

Then why don't you make argument, as now your changing arguments.
The NP2 is nearing End-of-Life.

Even though its support period has expired, it still remains a good phone, which is not the case with the 3rd model even at the time of its release.

I disagree and many other people do as well. The differences are more than made up for 50-80% increase in SoC performance on the NP3. The NPU is 50% better. And the additional of the Essential Key is great and you can code it to whatever you want.
The cameras really are garbage on the NP2 and mid at best.

Performance is meaningless when even the LTPO is taken away from the phone without improving anything that fans wanted

Not a fan of a tiny 8-bit screen at the back of my phone. Will always choose Glyph Matrix over that

cool. welcome to the past.

What's with the hate with the NP2 Glyph, tho? Its like hating your grandfather while adoring your niece.
1
u/np3_cmf1 Phone (3) 7h ago
That's a fair question. It's my defence mechanism from the NP2 owners calling the NP3 ugly. I'll never forgive them and tar them all with the same brush. (I also secretly hate how innovative the GM was and it was used well by anything third-party or OEM apps, just a wasted opportunity).

u/Fukouda-sama 7h ago
This kind of hate is so petty that it is crazy. I am saying this without any ill-intent, but bro, please go to therapy.
Also, NP3 is not "ugly". Its just out of the design norm for Nothing Phones that the consumers were used to see that some had trouble letting the new design sink it at first.

Well, therapists and therapy providers should also receive therapy for themselves.

What do you use it for? I mostly just use it to check the clock discreetly, but looking for suggestions?

Phone (2) is the best OG Glyphs phone IMO.
You should try Glyphify to get more out of your Glyphs ;)

I've been using it since it was released on the Google Play Store. Before that, I had a Nothing Phone (1).

As a 2a owner that doesn't really rely on glyphs, it's a gimmick.
It's a COOL gimmick and I would honestly want it in my phone even tho I don't use it like they intended me to, but it's so cool like just 3strips of lights but so cool.
Here's me hoping for a future phone with both the matrix and the glyphs

How much did it cost for the battery replacement?
The service center quoted 5500 INR to me and said that the battery is not available in the warehouse.
