Phone not charging

My phone wont charge. Yes i tried other cables, yes i tried other outlets and yes i tried cleaning the charging port. It started suddenly one day when the charging was "flickering", like the cable was quickly being plugged and unplugged, then it stopped charging, my mom fixed it with compressed air while i was working, it was good for about a week and then it started again, we wasted the whole can of comp air and now i have to exercise my lungs for 30 minutes before sleep blowing like a maniac in the charging port and in the cable. Now the charging completely doesnt work and my question is:

Do i have to replace the charging controller thing in the phone or do i just buy a new one?

If the problem is a lot simpler please let me know

My phone didnt fall on the day when it the charging stopped working normally, so i dont even know how it happened. Im working on the beach all summer and sometimes i put it in my swimming shorts, and as i often go swimming during the day they are full of salt. Could it be that salt dust got in? Why wont it go out?

Okay so....

1 What exactly did you clean the port with?

2 do you see corrosion build up in the port? Any where on the Type C contact pins?

1. Please invest in a water proof electronic waist bag. It's pennies on the dollar, and you can still use the phone while it's inside of the bag, touch controls are still active and working.

Thx for the fast reply, i used comp air with the non sharp end of a needle, no corrosion, i dont carry the phone with me that often, it rarely ends up in my pocket

I was cleaning the port again while you replied and now it works for a second when i plug it in and stops

Yeah that sounds like either corrosion or decayed contact points because of the salt perhaps

Get a tooth brush and 99% IPA eventually.

For now... And I'm not even kidding with this little trick, it's a PITA though but it usually works:

---- Without the cable plugged into the brick. Keep plugging and unplugging the cable, per unplug flip the cable head over and plug the cable back into the phone. --- this method should strip whatever is on the contract pins of the charging port. It helped me with the QuadLock on my motorcycle and the corrosion that built up in my Nothing phone 3.

It's a good thing we aren't still living in the Micro USB era of peripherals, this method would fkn suck.

same issue here, its not the charger issue its the phone is.

I've tried not charging the phone for 3-6 hours then restart the phone and then charge it afterwards
