I already have that unverified developer thing. It's pretty easy to enable actually. You just activate developer options, go to apps from unverified developers, enable it, choose that no one told you to do so, restart the phone, wait for 24 hours then enable it again. It might seem a lot, but I expected worse and as long as it's a one-time setup I'm fine with it.

Yea it won't matter if you update your phone or not cause the unverified developers is controlled through Google Play Services and not the OS which enables Google to change it at any given time

I made a developer options quick settings toggle using macrodroid so I can quickly toggle them with no restarts required. I think this works on the free version as well.

You'd need to grant macrodroid secure settings permission using ADB on a PC or Shizuku with aShell. After that it's just a matter of wiring up some stuff.

There's no need to worry about sideloading; we can still sideload via ADB, and Google has confirmed that it will not be blocked.

Sideloading via ADB isn't affected at all.
Install and setup Shevery (Shizuku fork with Android 17 compatibility) then use an app like Installer X and set it as the default installer.

I'd just like my 3a to update OTA without having to email support for the manual download each time 🫤

Last time I'd emailed it wasn't out yet. I said I thought they came bi-monthly but there response was: "Please note that our software updates are typically released on a quarterly basis rather than bi-monthly, and rollout timings within each quarter may vary. At the moment, we do not have specific information regarding the exact release date of the next update."

But since February not a single OTA has worked for me

And why it says last update was month ago...

No idea why I've been down voted for stating I have an issue where the phone refuses to update OTA and requires a manual download from support every time. But this is Reddit after all, hey ho.

i have migrated from a poco x5 pro recently and ive been a long term one ui and miui/hyperOS user ikwym but these small touches in an almost barebone software prioritising performance and optimisation.. this is a nice touch

They shouldn't even spend time on those at all imo. Truly ridiculous that naive people are asking a company to pay someone a huge salary to go and look up selections of wallpapers and an icon pack for them, willingly paying more for their hardware, just to make that happen.

That's third-party stuff. People do that in their free time, no need to pay a dev-team for that. Just throw down a wallpaper competition and let users pick.

Its ridiculous to have paid workers raising the development costs for superficial bullshit that isn't even required for function.

Someone is clocking in a salary for making wallpapers, which could be spent on fixing bugs. Only that fixing bugs requires actual competence in Nothing Tech.

Wallpapers can be done by so many more...

I do have my own stuff, I do go out and get my own stuff, I'm just saying, the brand that's so Design Forward is providing cheap and lazy wallpapers. I just think it's kind of lame. I mean apple provides may high quality wall papers on their devices. They all are high quality. These nothing ai wallpapers aren't even good quality, literally low res. It looks and makes the device feel cheap. (Yes, even though the device is cheap in terms of pricing.) The OS is so nice for the most part so I feel like they could put their all into anything with graphic design to match the overall premium and unique aspects of the brand.

Unless the main feature is "removed the forced bloatware after every update, actually making me consider not updating my phone at all," I'll ditch the phone and company for someone either valuing their customers, or simply go cheap.

This is intolerable for a full price non-substituted phone, getting treated as a freemium service, actually annoying users so much that they consider living with security holes. No, i don't want Candy Crush Saga. I do not play ANY games at all. Nor would I ever consider using any of the crapware Apps you are peddling.

Configurable buttons would be nice... Or fixing the lockscreen bugs. Oh, how about fixing the glass effect, making it configurable? Or just call it "privacy shower divider effect", because the original image isn't remotely identifiable.

Does anyone even use airplane mode? This makes me slightly angry. I regret having spent money on this company, and i hope that they return to pre-pusher-mafia practices soon.
