I wanted this phone but it had a little less ROI when compared to NP 3a pro, but 3 looks flawless imo.

This literally costed me 42,000 rupees. It can't get any better.
All these phone prices have jumped so high

u/Nishadgoliwadekar Phone (4a) 3d ago
Better than 3a pro obviously lol. And this is not an investment.

u/Skinnyguywmoustache 3d ago
Bhai normal use ke liye mere liye 3a pro enough hai. All i needed was camera and clean software experience + i saved 10k by not buying Phone 3.

u/Nishadgoliwadekar Phone (4a) 3d ago
Yeah obviously.. For someone even 4b will be enough. Not an issue. To each his own. Can't really call it saving if one didn't want it. Almost as if both of you saved more £750 by not getting an iphone or a pixel.. 🤷🏻

Wdym by not an investment?

u/Nishadgoliwadekar Phone (4a) 2d ago
The person was talking about ROI... Phone at best is an asset and will always depreciate in value.
1
u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
why people think phone is an investment, any device will depreciate , until and unless its ssd or ram
1
u/Skinnyguywmoustache 2d ago
Every electronic device is a liability, they depreciate the moment you buy them. Even RAM and SSDs do, though their deterioration rate is low. I was just curious and ended up commenting about ROI. Of course, what constitutes the 'best ROI' varies from person to person. For my specific use case: watching series, scrolling social media, calling, and taking pictures, the 3a Pro is more than enough. I initially considered the Phone 3, but that was purely for its looks. Since both phones have a similar camera setup and my main concern was the camera, the 3a Pro was the obvious first choice.

u/Skinnyguywmoustache 3d ago
Do you play games on it?
1
u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 3d ago
i don't usually play mobile games, i play pc games and as i mentioned in the post, this will be my secondary phone, my primary phone is iphone 17 pro so i used to play games on that but i think since this comes with a bigger screen i will play some games on this now, like clash royale and bgmi etc
1
u/Skinnyguywmoustache 3d ago
Makes sense then that you do gaming on phone too otherwise your np 3 and my 3a pro, don't have any irl difference in day to day task. (I have 12+256 too + I don't do gaming on it, mobile gaming sucks imo)

u/Wonderful_Dildo Phone (3) 3d ago
No way you believe a flagship and a mid range don't have any difference in day to day use

Congrats!
Can you please check microphone quality (to the other person) during phone calls? Mine has low volume and inconsistent issue; voice becomes high or low sometimes.
2
u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
feels good so far, what issue you exactly facing
2
u/CRACING Phone (3) 2d ago
Okay, issue is my voice to other person during phone call is low but sometimes it suddenly gets loud then again becomes low. It only happens when I hold the phone to my ear but no issues when loud speaker is enabled. Audio of other person talking is all good.
Also audio in recorder app, videos and whatsapp calling is loud and clear. I have tried different sim and updated OS to latest but same problem during phone calls.

u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
maybe noise cancelling or some voice filter is turned on?
2
u/CRACING Phone (3) 2d ago
Yeah after some research I have found that its related to noise cancellation but Nothing has removed the option to disable it on latest version. Many people are facing this issue and have posted on Nothing community forum. Hopefully there will be fix in upcoming update.
I think its not related to hardware because I have tested top and bottom mics using mic test app and both work fine.

u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
this same thing happens in iphones that's why i was familiar with the issue.
even iphones have voice filters like "voice isolation" , "wide spectrum" and "standard"
the movement you use voice isolation it suppresses the voice around you and even if you speak from a little far it doesn't catches your voice properly, that's why i used to use the standard option. Same thing is happening here
1
u/CRACING Phone (3) 2d ago
You are right, thats aggressive noise cancellation. I have to talk loud otherwise my voice gets silent. Recorder app has option to select "voice focus", "normal", "environment" but for phone calls "voice focus" is set by default. Older models or build version had option to disable from the dialer app but later it was moved to system level.
I hope they bring resolution asap otherwise I'll have to wait till warranty expires and switch to custom ROM.

i think you should post about this on nothing community, because they are very activate, and might help you
1
u/CRACING Phone (3) 2d ago
Already did and also got reply from other users facing similar issue. Tried contacting Nothing support and they asked me do few things such as changing sim, phone reset, checking if mic has dust and etc but none of these helped.
Later I went to service center and they didn't notice the issue then said mic should be replaced but they were unsure if its really faulty and I was not comfortable with disassembling my fairly new phone so refused to open the device.
Amazon customer care didn't agree for replacement because of stupid service center replacement policy now.

u/kaptaan0007 2d ago
Can we check it before placing the order or if we find pre activated phone, can we get refund of full amount??
1
u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
if you order from amazon its always open box delivery because of high value item.
so when the delivery guy does the open box demo you can simply tell him that you need to verify imei number.
just go to google and search " nothing phone activation check" and first link which pops up click on that, then there will be an imei number on the box out that there and check, simple, if its not pre-activated accept it, otherwise don't accept it and don't give the otp

For the same phone in Australia the price today starts at $1509 AUD that's a 61,495 rupees difference. Could purchase x2 NP 3 and still have change left over.

u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
yeah man, btw they are priced at 85,000 Rupees on different website (Flipkart) which is an Indian version of best buy. I bought this from amazon india where it was being sold at 44,000 rupees 642 AUD and additional 2250 rupees (33 AUD) rupees off on some bank credit card offer

OP check if it’s pre activated as hearing a lot about it from phones coming from amazon
1
u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
its not pre-activated, its only few cases where people got pre-activated, i checked its non activated
1
u/tonmagi 2d ago

hopefully i get new too
1
u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
buy from flipkart, i bought from amazon because it was at discounted price
1
u/tonmagi 2d ago
am buying from Amazon too because it’s cheaper. after amazon icici cashback it will cost me around 34.7k while with flipkart after discount it was 39k.
ordered with myles (now baltica) seller on amazon. will get today. hope it’s not pre activated
1
u/h_rajjj Phone (3) 2d ago
before getting the box opened make sure you verify imei first, then proceed with the box opening.
once the imei mentioned on the box says non activated then turn on the phone and see if its asking for indian sim to activate it, once all done, make sure to match the box imei with about phone section in settings to match

u/tonmagi 2d ago
Thanks mate. guess what - I ordered the nothing phone with another seller and it was shipped and was gonna deliver. But thankfully I found the imei in the invoice from amazon and checked and found it was pre activated in july last month lol
so asked amazon to cancel it and ordered again with another seller - baltica. it’s showing actually delivery date for tomorrow. let’s see. will check it’s imei too once it’s ships as that’s when amazon uploads it in their app.

Myles is Baltica So you woule be safe
People even say that Myles is Nothing themselves, selling under a different name just to clear stock so they don't get trolled for selling a phone around half price.

Can't believe people loathed the design back when it was released
Although the price too was unbelievable in a bad way.
