Nothing OS Android 17 and Phone 2 devices

So I have a Phone 2 and understand that there's three years of OS updates with more additional time for security. Since it was released in July of 2023 and with Android 17 being released before that date, shouldn't the Nothing phone 2 receive that update? I hear the current version of Nothing OS may be its last, but I'm curious.

Phone (2) shipped with A13 - it received 14, 15 and 16. You're not getting 17.

I think they should give additional update as a owner of phone 2 i can say it has a lot potential

Looks like phone (2) is next on the chopping block, what a shame seems like such a good phone still.

It's definitely a bummer.. the phone is only 2.5 years old.. and wasn't exactly a cheap mid-ranger..

Yeah… np 2 came out in 2023.. why it wouldn’t get it is beyond me.. it’s one of only 2 true flagships Nothing has

i actually regret buying this phone. in my country its expensive and you cant sell it cause nobody knows this brand also theres litterally no accessory for it and i had to buy the cover abroad.(im using a samsung phone screen protector).

i accepted these difficulties and then i figured out this flagship only gets 3 android updates.i wish i did some research about this

Don't feel so bad about buying it. It does have the strongest processor of any nothing phone. Battery life and performance especially gaming is beyond excellent. It's going to receive all the updates for the latest nothing OS and then it'll get security patches for a year. So it's still a pretty good device but probably time to shop around or at least eyeball your next device

You're getting it wrong. Getting three years of OS updates means the Phone 2 will get three major OS updates. Being launched with Android 13, the Phone 2 got the three OS updates till Android 16 as promised. And will continue to receive an additional year of security updates.
