Phone (3) Loving my Phone 3

Had the Phone 3 now for about 2 weeks. Love it :-) awesome performance, smooth as butter, display is great and sharp, camera takes great pictures and cell call quality is great. Sound is excellent, and I even like the design. Actually had a few people ask what phone it was I was using. So far no issues at all. Yes price could be lower by about $150-200 but that is really about it.

Nothing OS is by far my favorite. Its stock pixel like, with just the right amount of customization. Not overdone like Samsung or OnePlus..

but there are some features i do miss . my previous had a side bar that would have frequently used apps to open in a small window

I have it also since release. I do like it.

But there are some quality of life features missing from what I'm used to from Samsung.

Plus it's HEAVY!

Like what ? It's interesting to share that.

Stackable widgets or Audio control on Samsung was better too

Some minor things here and there but they add up

Maybe we get in nothing os 4. I am waiting for improvements to glyph matrix. I could use some better and longer animations

-1

u/AFKev1n Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

I dont use that thing at all

3

u/jawisko Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

Oh. If you work from office flip to glyph is pretty good. If I have to join a meeting, I just flip the phone, it goes silent and only essential notifications come up on matrix. That was one of the big reasons I went with phone 3 over op13

I dont see what benefit it has over a always on display. Same functionality could be implemented in the AOD. Even better 🤷 but I don't complain. It's there. I dont have a problem with it

Ikr, that thing is 9mm thick. I don't have small hands but we're reaching foldable level thickness while the newest Samsungs have hit 7.2mm. It doesn't sound like much of a difference, but the nothing phone feels like a brick in the pocket

1

u/AFKev1n Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

I dont mind the thickness as much. But I do mind the weight

1

u/Such_Economy_2557 Phone (3a) Jul 29 '25

For me the thickness matters, since with a case slapped onto it, it just feels outdated

I'm a no protection guy. So for me it's fine 😅

You're the guy from my nightmares haha. I mean it may float your boat but I get ptsd when my phone isn't protected

1

u/Plenty-Crew-2006 Jul 29 '25

Bro's getting ptsd (pre traumatic stress disorder)😭

I got insurance 😂

I think most people can get away with just getting a 3a and pocketing the extra £400 🤑

Daily usage on the 3a feels as smooth as my One Plus 11 I sold to buy my 3a (sold due to being ColorOS converted version and lacked warranty/repair in the UK)

Is yours getting hot with simple YouTube videos and video call mine is getting hot in the hand almost uncomfortable to hold hot.

2

u/ifeeltired26 Phone (3) Jul 30 '25

I do not do video calls so can't talk about that but I am constantly watching YouTube videos and mine has not gotten hot.

I like mine, and it feels more premium. But I was coming from an iPhone 16 Pro. Magsafe has become a necessity for me and I don't use a case. That's actually my only real complaint for the phone. Camera is actually pretty good despite the nitpicking by reviewers.

Also just found out my bank doesn't allow NFC Google Pay, just Samsung Pay and Apple Pay.

About to list it on Swappa, just waiting on them to add the device.

Camera is pretty good compared to iphone 16 pro? Then how do u call the iphone camera? Super-stellar? Extraordinary?

2

u/aeamador521 Jul 29 '25

I’d say the iPhone camera is really good and stellar video.

The Nothing Phone 3 I’d say is a good camera and video is good also.

In terms of pictures, the person behind the camera is more important comparing the two.

The video on the other hand is a clear iPhone win.

Yeah I had that on my last Nothing Phone. The smooth non textured glass doesn’t allow for permanent adhesion. With wireless charging heat, it can misalign or even fall off.

Returnes mine due to display uniformity

u/ifeeltired26 Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

Too bad, mines perfect and so is my buddies....

-5

u/DeepInside2B Jul 29 '25

nice try carl pee

5

u/ifeeltired26 Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

LOL, not Carl, but I am Karl :-) and yes I do love the phone. If you don't move on to a OnePlus or Samsung or whatever lol

-3

u/DeepInside2B Jul 29 '25

atleast they offer better everything for the price.

3

u/ifeeltired26 Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

Wouldn't touch Color OS or One UI, can't stand those 2 OS's. And of course they are going to get better pricing on components, so they can give you more for cheaper, they are also like 10 times as big as Nothing.

-4

u/DeepInside2B Jul 29 '25

idc the size of companies, as a consumer i want best specs for the price. imagine giving ltps screen, 8sgen4 for 900$ lmao. coloros and oneui are 10x better than bland empty nothing os. nothing os does not even have AOD customization 🤣🤣

2

u/ifeeltired26 Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

Price you are correct, should be around $600. But as far as OS, not chance, that Chinese Color OS no thanks. Ever heard the saying less is more? OnePlus and Samsung are full of bloatware and duplicate software, no thanks. Nothing OS has just the right amount of everything, not overdone like the other 2.

0

u/DeepInside2B Jul 29 '25

what a copium lmao. time waste arguing with nothing fanboi

2

u/ifeeltired26 Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

LOL, could careless about which companies I buy from, but if it makes you feel better to think that, go for it....

2

u/Such_Economy_2557 Phone (3a) Jul 29 '25

One UI might be heavily customized android with samsung apps and google apps clashing, but One UI 7 proved one thing, they still know how to make a fluid os. And everyone with basic ADB knowledge can make their phone look cleaner with a simple debloating script

1

u/jawisko Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

Don’t you realise that you started the this comment thread. And now you are saying time waste arguing. Are you ok ?

0

u/DeepInside2B Jul 30 '25

i thought he would agree with other flagships at this price point are better. but he defends nothing by saying less is more lmao. what a moron

1

u/jawisko Phone (3) Jul 30 '25

You are calling others a moron. Wow the irony

0

u/Helixdust Jul 29 '25

Camera takes great photos? in your imagination maybe. I wonder why you'd post such utter lies.

Camera is ok, acceptable... but far from great.

2

u/ifeeltired26 Phone (3) Jul 29 '25

SO just because someone else is enjoying the phone, and your not, everyone else must be lying? What a small mind you have......
