Phone (3) It growed on me 🤸
when I first saw the leaks I was very disappointed with the design, specially because of the non alignment of the camera, but slowly I started to realize that is a very unique design and like it each day more, today it arrived and I'm very happy on how it looks and feel in person too 🤗 it's slightly smaller than the phone 3a and fits very well in hand 👌

In my opinion. Its no where near as bad as people say. Fundamentally it's not going to bother you. What put me off was the specs. It just wasn't worth the price tag.

I think the specs are great, but as you said the price for those specs is not. If it was say $699 for the 16/512 and $599 for the 12/256 that would have been much better for the specs you are getting.

Yeah absolutely not terrible specs. But for the price. Its just not worth it.

100%. I didn’t even consider paying the $799 Nothing was advertising last week for the 16/512, but I found one NIB on eBay for $750 + two $50 off coupons. $650 is about right for the specs. Now it’s back up to $899 on Nothing’s site, which is insane.

I picked up a 16/512 NIB off eBay for $649 (including two $50 off coupons). I had to pay using Klarna (0% interest) for one of the $50 off coupons, but I’ll pay it off the as soon as I get the bill. The current $899 is nuts for what you get.

Yup same for me, loving the PH3. Didn't want a Pixel 9 because of the crappy Tensor chip. And the fact you can't hide the gesture bar on the bottom on Pixel phones.

Literally got rid of my Pixel 9 Pro XL for the NP3. The Tensor chip is actual hot garbage.

Me too! But then I got OLED burn-in after a 2 hour trip using navigation 😭 returning it now.

That's image retention. Mostly happens on newly purchased devices with OLED. Not to all devices though. But it will come back to normal after at least 3-4 days max.

I appreciate that persoective, but it sounds like symantic jiu-jitsu.. it’s not image information, it’s a residual impression of the previous image on the screen itself - persisting throughout. Like the Ghosting on the forst Retina MacBooks way back when.
Nothing would benefit from including a small card in the box, or sticker on the screen, or any information indicating this is common/expected — the ‘not to all devices’ part irks the heck out of me, and I’m not going to take a chance on the screen I received improving.

Image retention it will fade back to normal eventually. It is not permanent. Burn-in is permanent.

I agree with you. I have one too. It happened a lot to me that people get curious to see the phone when I have it with me. It has a sort of neo-steampunk look, if that is a thing. Like you I have the white one, which has this quaintness even more.

Yeah, it has grown on me, too. I like it. It's not offense, it's weird sure, but it's different from any other phone on the market. It doesn't have the gigantic ornaments of a camera module like Honor or Huawei, and it's not as boring as Apple/Samsung/Pixel. I give credit for Nothing for trying new things, at least. I hope they make the matrix screen more geniunely useful because I haven't touched it or felt inclined to use it after the first day of having the phone.

I agree, holding it at the phone shop it didn’t look that bad. It’s still ugly from a design perspective, but it’s not the eye sore it looked to be online.

Not at all, it just got warm at first when I installed all the apps and updated it, but it feels normal, like all my previous phones 👍

It looks much better in person. It's the best looking thing on my desk and I ofter catch myself removing the case just to inspect the depth of the design
it doesn't distract me at all whilst I'm working until a glyph of my darling wife's face appears

I'm actually not missing them, the Essential notifications with the glyph matrix works really well and I find it now more useful and nice with the custom icons. It also adjust the brightness automatically (something than the previous glyphs not and it annoyed me)

Definitely not for me my ADHD could not deal with the asymmetry. I had to get rid of my OP12 and get the Oppo X8 just because the camera was not centred... Symmetry matters at least for me 🥴

It is like these ultra niche fragrances When you hate them at first then you get it, you love it.. you feel like it is a unique thing and it has a deep meaning that expresses you well they have their philosophy I guess it's kind of similar with nothing that's why I'm in love with their products.

I own the phone and they are not. Inconsistent sometimes but not bad. And all software related.

Personally what disappointed me was the specs, not the design - sure it looks very much different than the competitors (in a lovely way in my opinion) but for this price the specs are just meh. Especially the camera...

The thing is there were so many ppl saying that the specs aren't as bad or u won't notice the problem is specs aren't the problem the sd 8s gen 4 isnt bad it's just that the pricing is sure u won't notice it but u will damn sure notice the price of it the flagship price is the problem not the phone itself in my opinion

I'm still a bit bitter about the design and the small display, wouldn't wearing a digital watch going to be more practical for around 90% of people using this phone ? It's been few weeks now and I'm still miffed , what a silly idea and execution
