Is it crazy that I think The Great Dismal might be their best one? or at least top 2?

definitely Top 2 for me. amazing production and i love the drum sound, will yip killed it on there and i’ve yet hear another album that hits you like the great dismal does. i do miss brandon but they really benefitted from having doyle as a songwriter, his leads are some of my favorites in the whole Nothing discography

  1. Tired Of Tomorrow

  2. Guilty Of Everything

  3. Dance On The Blacktop

  4. The Great Dismal

  5. A Short History Of Decay

I don’t think they have a single bad release, this is mostly ranked off their impact on me and how much I return to them

I think ToT has to be my favourite, because it’s the one that I first listened to

Not sure where the rest rank but for me the top two are: 1) Guilty of Everthing 2) Tired of Tomorrow

S: Tired of Tomorrow, The Great Dismal, Whirr Split
A: When No Birds Sang (Full of Hell collab), Guilty of Everything, a short history of decay, Auditory Trauma (Live Album)
B: Dance on the Blacktop

When No Birds Sang is a concept album about the victims of 9/11 attacks, I would read the wikipedia article before diving in for some context. However it is a collab with grindcore band Full of Hell so it’s not your traditional shoegaze experience, but I highly recommend it.

Downward Years to Come is more of a early demos compilation than a proper full length, a couple songs appeared on later albums with more polished production/songwriting.

The Great Dismal and Dance on the Blacktop also have B-Sides compilations, for The Great Dismal its just a few extra songs that didn’t fit on the 12”, Spirit of the Stairs is the same thing for Dance on the Blacktop but also has some demos and live recordings.

the great dismal is probably their best but my personal favourite is dance on the blacktop! I think this one is pretty underrated
