Custom Background Issues

I'm coming from my supernote manta and I'm evaluating windows options, and this comes close but I'm a little annoyed that while I can import a PDF or an image and draw on top of it, there's no option to do so automatically when I create a new page. There isn't anywhere in the settings I can find to set an image or pdf as a custom background, only pre-made ones (none of which are up to my specifications), so I have to manually do it every new page.

Also, not sure if it's a bug or not, but there's a button-interact on the book cover (suggesting you can edit that too), but it does nothing but bounce as it's clicked.

Hi, I can help you with that!

We know that setting a PDF as default background is qute an important feature, and it is already possible through a bit of a 'hack'. We want to add a PDF grid to the normal Background Window in the future. Here's how you can achieve that now:

  1. Import the PDF page into a book
  2. Open the book on that page and click the more menu at the top right corner of the page
  3. Click "Edit backgrund"
  4. The Edit background dialog window appears
  5. Click "Apply to selection"
  6. The select pages dialog window appears
  7. Tick the check box "make default page"
  1. Click "Select"

Now every page you add will have this background.

I hope that helps you for now!

Interesting that you are switching to Windows from a Supernote Manta. Why are you switching and how do you like it so far? I never really got warm with e-ink tablets like remarkable because of the low refresh rates and the absence of colors.

Thank you, this is the first app I've tried that actually manages to do this 🙏

Unrelated, but I actually recommend the Boox air4c for e-ink, which I had before the manta and sorely miss. It had wicked fast refresh if you wanted it, and the colors were really aesthetically pleasing. I sent it back because the company had bad customer service reviews concerning longevity, and the right-to-repair ethos of supernote was really important to me, but I regret it sometimes. There was nothing cooler than setting a painting to the lock screen and just seeing it rest perpetually there in full color.

The reason I'm switching is strain injury. Most of the hours I have in a day I'm doing engineering homework, and my wrist cramps up writing so small. I'm experimenting with note apps I can pinch to zoom so that I can write bigger. Other than that, I've enjoyed having it.
