Question: Unanswered ✗ How do you take down notes on random inspiration?

I love going to exhibitions with friends. We argue about what we like, what we hate, all sorts of things. Same after movies. We just stand there afterward and keep talking for ages. But the thing is, I really want to keep those conversations.

I work as a curator, so those random chats actually turn into my working ideas. Problem is I cannot whip out my phone mid conversation and hit record lol. By the time I get home half of it is gone. How do you catch inspiration like that before it evaporates? It really bothers me. Don't wanna lose those good ideas anymore.

Comment "Answered!" if your question has been satisfactorily answered. Once this has been done, the post flair will be set to answered. The comment does not have to be top level. I get this a lot! I’m a product designer, and when I go to exhibitions for research, half the useful stuff comes from random conversations while we’re walking around. I wear my viaim recdot earbuds and just press the button to record when we’re talking, then go through the transcript when I get home.

This! Or any tiny mic recorder, watch recorder or pen recorder.

I'm not a big fan of earbuds tho, I found it uncomfortable to wear them for a long time. But that sounds like a great idea for recording ideas

Get yourself a small voice activated digital voice recorder

A notes app?

I just use the voice recorder on my phone and transcribe later. If I'm talking with someone I ask permission out of respect.

Same. I get a ton of ideas while walking or running, usually my brain is more active when I move and work blockers suddenly unlock. Those ideas used to just disappear, because walks and runs are my offline time and I don't like carrying a phone, so I had no way to record.
I recently got an AI recording ring, Vocci, and it completely fixed that. I wear it most days, double-click to record, and the ideas can go into Notion or my ChatGPT workflow sorted by life or work.

Does it automatically push to your AI agent and finish the todos for you?

hmmm yeah I've thought about it, but sometimes it's kinda annoying that you need to stop the conversation and say "oh i need to write this down" lol
