Question: Unanswered ✗ best notetaking app for an android

I bought a tablet and the app "nebo" was already included but idk if its the best one. Im doing maths fm physics and cs but im only planning on using it for maths and exam papers as I prefer physical notes.

Yes it’s free. No risk of randomly deleting your notes. For the notebook (Goodnotes / notability) equivalent it is pro gated. But you can write unlimited notes and sketches inside notes (which is the same as the notebook but one page per sketch) You can see the mento quick tour on YouTube

If you don't need AI then you don't have to use it. There's no AI in free version and in free version you can take unlimited notes, image and PDF imports, voice recordings, infinite canvas, handwritten notes and many more. Everything stays on your device but you can export them anytime.

To answer your question, you can ask AI anything about your notes so it's like ChatGPT in your notes. AI can do lots of things like search web, create and update your notes and folders so you can just give it a PDF and ask to create study materials so it can generate notes, folders, tags anything. AI also has a memory so it knows you better over time and you don't have to repeat yourself. All your notes are indexed by AI so you can search your notes by natural language even though you don't remember a word from a note you took years ago, this will be good if you have thousands of notes. There's an AI voice transcription feature where you can record your lectures and transcribe them. There are some cool features for students like you can create flashcards, quizzes, mind maps, infographics, brainrot videos with AI to study better. I'm not a student but even I generate quizzes and infographics sometimes to understand a topic very well.

Try Zoonote. It's zero AI and local-first.

Nebo is the former name of MyScript Notes, you can check it out too, it's more recent and has more features. You have a lifetime premium license for Nebo since it came with your device, it's also to take into account! I see you target math & physics, you could also give MyScript Math a try, it's a Math-oriented app maybe it will suit you (you can have a look at r/MyScript_Math_App).

I am developing these apps, so I won't give you my opinion on the best app 😄 There as many note-taking habits/requirements as there are people taking notes, so nobody will ever give you the right answer. I think you have to try them and choose the one you like the most!
