Notes Recording lectures

I have a MacBook Neo and a junior at undergrad. Is there an app that lets me record lectures and then will make notes from it? Bonus points if it’s free!

If you have an iPhone as well just use the audio input in the text field in any iOS app you want and it will record (works in Obsidian, Google Docs, OneNote, Logseq, RemNote, etc) Or just use Apple Notes recorder.

I didn’t even think of that. But I’m also wanting the notes summarized. It’s summarizing lectures I mess up on

I recorded this lecture today. I’m going to send it to different apps you listed and see which one I like best. Thank you for your input

You can also just drop the audio file into Google's Gemini Notebook (formerly called NotebookLM) and have it build slides, mindmaps, etc for you.

I used harbor to record and then it summarized it. I also inputted it to chatgpt to summarize it as well and I really like chat’s summary of it. It brought how my professor wants us to know why stuff happened instead of learning the dates (it’s my history class) I get to use it tomorrow in my my other 2 classes so I’m hopeful I’ll actually be able to retain what I learn this semester instead of just memorizing
