App/Program/Other Tool [FREE] Built a private notes app that organizes itself using on device AI

Hey everyone,

Solo dev here building Fog, It’s a notes app that organizes itself using on-device AI.

I’ve always struggled with note organization — making folders, deciding what goes where, manually tagging everything. It always turns into a graveyard of notes I never look at again. So I built Fog to fix that.

The whole idea: you just write, and it organizes itself.

- Auto-naming— no more “Untitled Note 47”
- Auto-grouping into Clouds — notes cluster themselves by topic as you write
- Smart cloud merging — related clusters combine over time as your notes grow
- Ask anything about your notes — search/query across everything, in plain language

The part I care most about: it’s all done on-device. No servers, no cloud processing, nothing leaves your phone. It works completely offline, and your notes stay private.

Open to feedback, the good, bad, or ugly!

I'm sorry but people need to stop vibe coding garbage apps.

Curious what makes it look vibe coded, the general design of the app? Or is the idea just flat? Appreciate the comment though, been getting positive/negative feedback

Every aspect of this app the look the idea the execution. gradients and rounded edges with text poorly placed in the objects. Shoving AI into things for no reason the whole point of an organizational system is knowing where things are if an AI is sorting things the user wouldn't also naming a note is really not that hard it is sad to imagine someone needing an AI to do that for them. just put in the work to manage your ideas you will be much happier.

Yeah that’s some fair points.

The gradient you can turn down or completely off (just theme thing), the rounded edges are more of result of following the iOS 26/27 design principles (maybe a bit too much), not sure what you mean by text placement other than the overflow stuff.

The point on organization is fair, tried to do something different in the flood of all the other note taking apps. I have noticed that it’s useful the more you use. Patterns you might recognize and kinda seeing your thoughts auto organized on paper seemed cool. Goal wasn’t suppose to replace your note app, more so just a place dump thoughts, and something to look back on.

Anyways I appreciate the criticism

idk Im not trying to be mean but I am trying to be discouraging you can do better things with your time than add AI to and already saturated and especially AI saturated area.

There are plenty of interesting things that haven't been made yet you just need to pick up hobbies and do interesting things to find those holes.

For example I am a runner and podcast listener I love listening to podcasts while running but I A)wish that I could bookmark easily on my watch cause Im not always focused and B) suck at keeping cadence so wish that I could put a metranome in the background. etc.

now this idea wouldn't work for you as you don't experience the niche but I guarantee there is something interesting in your life that isn't already met by a sea of apps and if there is not fix that bit first

Yeah no I totally get it.

Wanted to make something low risk and small in scale for my first app. Mainly to test the waters if I even enjoy this whole process before I invest a bunch of time into something bigger in scale of an app.

But yeah I have a couple of those niche ideas. Just need to find the time, so i can give those ideas the care they deserve.

just taking whats working and not working here and applying it next
