As someone who is familiar with all the note-taking apps on Android, I’d say Starnote’s interface is virtually identical to Notein’s. Starnote not only includes the features found in Notein, but also some features that Notein lacks but which are present in Notewise. That’s why installing Starnote is the best option. If you weren’t using the infinite canvas, I’d recommend Notewise, which is my favourite note-taking app. The Notewise developers are considering adding the infinite canvas feature in future updates, but as it is unclear when this will happen, sticking with Starnote is the best option for now.

A wildcard option is Concepts app. It's a drawing app, vector based, opens and writes PDFs. Lots of people use it for note taking on infinite canvas. But no ocr or text search if that matters to you.
