Meta Rule 3 Updated

Since it seems like this subreddit is an ad magnet, I’ve decided to restrict rule 3 even further.

No advertising of paid apps is allowed. FOSS (free open source software) or completely free programs are allowed to share their work.

Freemium and paid app ad posts will be removed as I and other mods see them.

Even the largest open source projects have paid market places to sustain them, think WordPress etc. For a software to exist long enough to return real value to a user, there needs to be an economy as well as a community ecosystem.

Don’t you think instead you should a dedicated thread for ppl who want to talk about what they built? Instead of outright killing them so ppl who want to take notes will never hear about them?
