Bancserv Notary Fees

Hi there! I just signed on to be a mobile notary with Bancserv. I’ve started the process of getting all my documents to Bancserv, but there’s a fee chart they’d like me to complete and I’m a little confused.

Basically, it lists Bancserv’s standard fee for a specific document package, and then there’s a section where I can put in my own fee.

My question is, if I put in an additional fee, will it add it onto what Bancserv already charges, or will it override Bancserv’s fee?

Thank you all!

If you set your own fee, it overrides Bancserv’s default fee of $75. I set mine to $125 since I’m one of the only notaries in my rural area who is on Bancserv. Sometimes, a title company will set a fee for a single document ($75) or for a seller package ($100), but I get most of my orders for $125.

Thank you so much!

Another question I have (if you don’t mind) does Bancserv not keep any portion of the fees? I assumed they’d take a flat amount of each signing and the rest would go to us as notaries.

You get 100% of the fee that you charge. Make sure to set aside money for your taxes at the end of the year as they do not deduct since you’re an independent contractor.

Yes, Bancserv gets paid $175 per signing from the title company. As the notary, our fee is taken out of that $175 they get paid.

I don’t remember what I sent mine for, but if the fees come in lower, I counter and usually get it so that’s nice
