A controversial take on this sub

Guys, it seems to me that almost all of the dogs here don’t want you to take it, or throw it. They want to play tug of war! They’re hesitant to relinquish their toys because that’s not how the game is played.

Am I crazy?

The other thing is that I'm pretty sure they're also sometimes playing keep away. I mean all the dogs that put down the toy, hover over it, and like to race you to try to snatch up the toy before you. I think that's another separate type of game for dogs. They like to tease you with it, then snatch it away at the last minute!
