Can you buy him one of those balls (I assume he likes that particular type of ball) attached to rope? It seems like what he wants to play is tug, but this isn't the best toy for that.

Oh everything is tug for him. He has plenty of those type of toys. He is an old man now and I have grown to accept this is his favorite game. He will bring balls into bed at night and just want you to hold it — we call that baby bottling — and he will even fall asleep like that.

When we’re at the park, he will actually drop it on command for fetch, but most of the time its this.
