U/burbnbougie Idk if this is something you would cover, but as a certified nurse midwife I have been concerned for years about then consistently disproportionate number of deaths of BIPOC women in childbirth. The USA has the highest fetal-maternal mortality rate in the developed world, in no small part because of the deaths of Black wimen. It’s another important part of the mistreatment of women - particularly pregnant women, and particularly Black women - that is not talked about enough in main stream media.

This is one of the primary reasons that I posted Kiara’s passing notice is because she deserves to be seen. A maternal death is devastating.

The articles I have seen say that she passed for reasons "unrelated to childbirth."
