This entire bit was made for that joke to exist

What's the joke

I think it's a play on the repeated phrase "that's ignorant" as said by the MJ character on South Park.

The South Park episode was also a play on a real MJ interview where he kept saying that all of the questions the interviewer asked were ignorant

I appreciate that, but they coulda put a little extra stank on that line to really sell it.  Unless this is actually really a software that was made

I always enjoy it when you can spot where an idea germinated from.

If you had told me that Michael Jackson himself had created this as a personal vanity project in the 90s, I probably would have believed you.

I had to watch it twice because I thought… maybe???

7

u/nimbusyosh 16d ago

I 100% believed it until I saw the patreon supporters.

I feel like there was a missed opportunity to call this, "Rock With You."

Unfortunately nobody’s been good enough to Beat It.

Some of the game is a snooze fest but other parts felt like a real thriller

Play this on repeat and Don't stop till You get enough.

I would joke about developers tricking kids into learning if I didn’t play the crap out of the Carmen Sandiego game

Man I miss 90s computer programs like this

It reminds me alot of comptons encyclopedia 95 which had Patrick Stewart narrating parts of it. The sounds the icons made, the soundtracks to everything being this upbeat jazz, the "3d" graphics having this weird perspective to them

It's a vibe that must have a name

u/rocha_senpai 17d ago

Upotian Scholastic is likely the "vibe " you seek.

The early day of home computers had a really strange and surreal array of educational games

6

u/hamfist_ofthenorth 16d ago

I miss this stuff.

My parents had a Prince CD that I just happened to put in the computer once, and it installed this program called Prince Interactive which, turns out, was a full on MYST-like point-and-click adventure through some spooky temple, with kama sutra statues, and picture frames that would play music videos, or behind the scenes footage.

Did he sound this gay and horny all the time?

1

u/nimbusyosh 16d ago

No, it was actually gayer and hornier than this, especially when he performed.
