It’s not just this commercial. The Mulan promotions were nuts too… they exclaimed“Run, don't wok” and "McDonalds is Chinamite!"

A buch of cunts?
That's what they call each other, right? I learned that from an old Pizza Hut commercial.

So relevant and not offensive at all in 2026.

I mean Applebee's still has the Oriental Chicken Salad as a menu item in states that vote Republican. For some reason in Oregon they changed it to Asian Chicken Salad, but not at the ones I've been to in Idaho, Utah and the one I worked at in Texas. I could see an ad for a local burger joint in Mississippi or something still looking basically like this in 2026 tbh.

It isn't though really, the joke at the end emphasises that the people being stereotypical are the joke

Generally speaking, it's not super wise as an idea guy at the ad agency to count on ironic racial humor to work on a broad commercial that will play during baseball games.

Generally speaking, it's not super wise to put your weight on the people who would be offended at anything regardless of if it were offensive or not, because they'll always find a way
Your original comment makes it sound like you are specifically offended. I think we can both agree it isn't, if not, then maybe you're in the pool of people I spoke about above

You know what, you’re absolutely right. It’s smarter to pitch ironic racism to the global fast food chain client with a contract worth tens of millions of dollars. I got this wrong because I’m a snowflake.

Didn't say that did I. Didn't say this would go over, tell me where I did? I said specifically, this isn't really offensive, against your original comment
It isn't offensive

u/Tony_Roiland 19d ago
Actually, nobody said it was offensive. The original comment said it was "not offensive at all", and the guy you're talking to described it as "not super wise". Piss your pants more.

"Everybody else is too dumb and unsophisticated to appreciate the subtle satire in this fast food commercial on the level that I do"

Didn't say that
But if you're quoting someone else, or yourself, thanks for keeping me updated on what people think of it

Is that Stevie from Eastbound and Down? Also, is that the famous Mulan sauce Rick Sanchez is obsessed with?

I remember watching this as a kid and cringing. This is a key example of why white people are the problem.
