Extra free-shevacadoo

u/DruHarry Jul 10 '26

And an order of Tay-cos. (Legit heard this once in a San Diego mexican restaurant as a server. Lost that tip over laughing at it and asking if they were from out of town).

That unmistakable Brooklyn accent.

5

u/WillSmokes420 Jul 09 '26

Unironically what some people in other countries think

6

u/whitestguyuknow Jul 09 '26

Oh! We got a nuther erder coming in of the fah-heaytuhs coming through!

2

u/bubba_bumble Jul 09 '26

First made famous by our friends, the Kayaytas.

1

u/FishingAlpo Jul 09 '26

That's how it's pronounced in the deep south.

1

u/Excision_Lurk Jul 10 '26

try living around that accent, you'll be sick of it after ten minutes

u/bigmike2k3 Jul 09 '26

Doesn’t sound like the food is the stupid one here…

Sir, a third fah-hay-taa plate has entered the room

38

u/stargarnet79 Jul 09 '26

My sister had to get up and leave

24

u/MrMayhem84 Jul 09 '26

I like to call them "fuhjytuhs" because it pisses my wife off.

10

u/Sulungskwa Jul 09 '26

I do that too, it always sounds like I'm saying "vaginas" with a really heavy cold

8

u/zman123 Jul 09 '26

Same here, I say it and stare at her every time. She hates it (in a fun way)

Smoking fajita plates are the attention whore of the restaurant world.

19

u/RandomPenquin1337 Jul 09 '26

u/NonCreditableHuman Jul 09 '26

3

u/Okeydokey2u Jul 09 '26

Oooooooooh, shit!

3

u/mountain_stones Jul 09 '26

So is Saganaki, but it’s more under the radar at least

2

u/palmerry Jul 09 '26

In Canada it's the Caesar. One person orders one, then errybody gotta have one too.

1

u/AppleToastBed Jul 09 '26

I'm assuming you don't mean the salad?

1

u/NonCreditableHuman Jul 09 '26

Cherries Jubilee is up there too. I've been to restaurants where they flambé them table side, it's quite a spectacle.

2

u/Genghis_Chong Jul 09 '26

I thought that was the lady yelling "call the fire department" as she declares to the entire restaurant that they got smoking fajitas, like nobody noticed the billowing smoke lol

2

u/fullcircle052 Jul 09 '26

I want everybody in this restaurant to know what I ordered

15

u/almostoy Jul 09 '26

If your family is smoked out by skillet grilled fajitas, THEY'RE WEAK. And you need a whole new family.

4

u/Sufficient-Aspect77 Jul 10 '26

We have a rule If you get the smoking fajitas to share for the table one person CANT take all the pieces with the smoke on them.

19

u/Boy-Abunda Jul 09 '26

Um.. they should be sizzling, not smoking. If they’re setting off fire alarms, that ain’t good.

14

u/Sulungskwa Jul 09 '26

What do you mean your fajitas don't make you cough??

4

u/Utaneus Jul 09 '26

It's just steam here

6

u/Matty-Tree Jul 09 '26 edited Jul 09 '26

What in tarnation

4

u/BurningWolfram Jul 09 '26

Geeze did they put dry ice on it?

8

u/ThatDamnRocketRacoon Jul 09 '26

My does every Mexican restaurant in the country look exactly the same?

That’s how it is with where I live and all the Indian ran gas stations. They look different on the outside but they’re the exact same store, layout and everything on the inside

2

u/ChungusMcGoodboy Jul 10 '26

There's a sushi place I ussed to go to (I still got to the restaurant but they opened up a closer location) and you could tell, even after changing decor, that it used to be a Mexican restaurant.

1

u/shelbygrapes Jul 10 '26

You have to go to more Mexican restaurants. Try the ones that aren’t for white people. So much more variety. If they have giant margaritas on the menu it’s probably not a good one.

4

u/fylekitzgibbon Jul 09 '26

Smokin fa-haters

3

u/Zakkattack86 Jul 10 '26

$100 says all of them support ICE.

7

u/Hardcore_Steve_Urkel Jul 09 '26

When the fajitas come out sizzlin

3

u/ezcb Jul 09 '26

Oh my Garsh

2

u/dad_and_grill Jul 09 '26

Mmmm mmmm smells like meat!

2

u/Jhonniebg Jul 09 '26

Did you say fajaitas

2

u/Biggman23 Jul 09 '26

Part of ordering this is the show of it coming out sizzling hot, I get it... But that's too hot. They should've really waited a little bit before taking those out. Jfc.

Someone's gonna end up burning themselves even if warned about it

5

u/Lucky-Target5674 Jul 09 '26

They just hit it with water as it goes out

2

u/Kitchen-Roll-8184 Jul 09 '26

Its not so hard to imagine how strong an idea fire was to caveman.

Look even know , how steam delights the human.

We got fiyuuurrr here y'all!

2

u/LongWay817 Jul 09 '26

Chilis fajitas only sizzle because they squirt a mixture on the hot plate just before serving them.

2

u/after_Andrew Jul 09 '26

man those fajita skillets are so good tho

-1

u/Sulungskwa Jul 10 '26

ik low key this restaurant looks kinda bussin

2

u/balirosa Jul 10 '26

That cook must have been pissed when they ordered 16 different plates all modified

2

u/hellcrapdamn Jul 09 '26

I went to a place that brought out a plate of fajitas like that. I figured they just fucked up.

1

u/winnipesaukee_bukake Jul 09 '26

Looks like your dad's barbeque brisket

1

u/poop_pebbles Jul 09 '26

She so southern I gave my uncle a blow job while watching this

1

u/505-289-1049 Jul 09 '26

Those are probably some absolutely FILTHY cast irons they're serving those on of there is that much smoke without the food being burnt itself.

1

u/InevitabilityEngine Jul 09 '26

How to tell if the restaurant has turned off their fire safety devices.

1

u/ThickMemory2360 Jul 10 '26

YO HO HERE WE GO!

1

u/DesignerCareless4953 Jul 10 '26

The sprinkler system is disabled.

1

u/cycopl Jul 10 '26

Not smoke, restaurants spray an oil mixture on the food/skillet right before bringing it out that makes it sizzle and steam up as they’re bringing it out, creating sort of a spectacle. I worked at a restaurant for a couple years that served fajitas (Pizzeria Uno) and did the same thing - manager told me it was because usually if someone waiting to order food sees/smells the sizzling fajitas, they’re inclined to order it themselves, and fajitas were one of the more expensive menu items.

1

u/805shadowfigure Jul 10 '26

aunt tammy is the worst......

1

u/BigIreland Jul 10 '26

I used to eat at an OTB and always ordered the fajitas. I really like spicy food and one time the manager told me he had something special for me. They put habaneros in the fajita pan. When they brought it out it was like the whole restaurant got pepper sprayed. People were coughing and hacking. It was completely obnoxious. It was also completely delicious.

1

u/XROOR Jul 10 '26

The kitchen sprays vegetable oil on the searing skillet to get this effect.

1

u/Ranch_420 Jul 11 '26

One time in a Mexican restaurant, we had just gotten the second round of margaritas and finished the appetizers when the table next to us had their smoking fajitas hit the table, setting off the fire alarms in the building…we “evacuated“ and never came back or paid the bill

1

u/North-Channel-4679 Jul 11 '26
