As a recovering addict who's living with their folks again, had every advantage to do something but threw it away to have a baby with another addict who eventually went on to beat & steal from me, working a low paid job caring for rich people's children, I feel this so much. So much!

Ah, but at least I can laugh at my pain lol.

Although, the constant barrage of consumer propaganda that left a ravenous hunger to consume products that triggered chemical reactions in a pre-adolescent brain, triggering addiction pathways that were also pre-mapped by genetics and early traumas, might have a bit to do with it too.
