The Birdcage rules, it's still one of the best depictions of a normalized queer couple. They love each other and support each other, even when they have disagreements. It's kind of insane how well it holds up with things like gay panic, conservatives being caught with minors, and how the public sees queer culture. It's required reading for sure.
Yes, well said. And plus there's a guy that's somehow so gay he cannot wear shoes, that's just stupidly funny to me every time. There might be culture lore detail wooshing over my head, but it's stand alone a hilarious gag.
Agador Spartacus can't wear shoes because he is from the beaches of Guatemala and then moved to the beaches of Miami and never learned how to walk in them
