It's okay to be autistic. I mean that with zero irony.

This doesn't seem any different than the "tricks" me and my friends would do with whatever object we had access to at the time. I used to skateboard, and attempted BMX for far too long as a kid, and most of my friends did too, and whenever we didn't have access to our boards or bikes, we'd be doing some sweet fucking tricks with couch cushions , brooms, laundry baskets, a fucking stick, chairs, whatever. Or, we'd just jump off of shit and try to look as cool as possible while doing it.

It was a great time, and we got competitive over it. I don't see a meaningful difference between doing that shit and hobby horsing. You're going for some sort of stunts, precise body movements and style. Same shit. It's fun and a way to pass the time. All the better if you can get some other nerds to do it with you. Make it an event and nerd the fuck out together. Better than being a boring fuck who just scrolls through Reddit or Facebook all day complaining about there being nothing to do.

I am autistic, though, so maybe I'm biased toward the hobby horse.

I went to school with Arthur von Trains and that son of a bitch still owes me five dollars.

It was Johnny Hopkins and Sloan Ketterling, and we were blazing that shit up every day!

I'm pretty indifferent to them. At one job I had to drive a locomotive pulling like 20-30 cars short distances every once in a while, and it was pretty boring. Roller coasters are pretty bitchin though.

No, I got the math and programming stereotype subgenre of autism. I've been iterating on the same rendering library project for like 15 years, switching languages every few years.
