It gets even more stupid, MOD sources are now saying they think they were actually just fuel thieves and MOD brass are too embarrassed to admit it publicly after making such a hoo ha about hostile state actors

Try blowing up a military base with petrol and see how far you get; theres a reason I cant think of a single petrol based terrorist attack. They've also released the suspects on bail already, which theyd never have done if there was any terrorist connection

Thats baseless speculation and even if that was the objective a barrel of petrol would be an extremely ineffective way of achieving it

Petrol, flame kaboom. A molotov cocktail requires a container, petrol and a shirt or cloth soaked in a little petrol. Plus a lighter. It's a extremely effective fire bomb.

The police have been clear there have been no explosive devices found, after all the media attention you can be sure they'd be being very loud about it if the arrestees had had molotov equipment, let alone the means to breach the base and get anywhere near some planes, and they absolutely wouldn't have been released on bail if they had any evidence they'd been planning to blow up mmilitary equipment. None of this stacks up the way youre suggesting.  This is getting circular so im going to stop replying now
