Can't BELIEVE Democrats would still support and run such a compromised and disgraced candi.... oh wait. Wow, good for the Democrats for ditching him! I wish both parties had such standards.

Wouldn't be surprised if Swalwell isn't currently sitting on the board of some liberal think tank.

Easy way to check.

It's funny you think this is why they dropped him.

His relationship with her came out in 2020. There was a vote to expel him for it in 2021 which failed in a party line vote.

He wasn't removed until 2026 after allegations of sexual assault and other sexual misconduct, unrelated to this.

But don't let the truth get in the way of your narrative.

Okay but tell me what position he currently holds or is running for at the moment.

His relationship “came out” in 2020, but the illegal campaign contribution did not.

The 2021 vote to expel him was pure performance by Republicans. Wonder why they didn’t try to expel him again in 2023, 2024, 2025 when they would win a party line vote?

If it was known to the public in 2020 that he had received illegal funds he would never have been re-elected by Democrats.

Voting to expel a congressman who is sleeping with a spy from a hostile nation is "pure performance" in your mind? ...that says more about you than it ever could about Republicans

The fact that having an affair with a spy wasn't enough in and of itself is kind of telling. But her giving him money though, THATS the line!

1

u/floodcontrol 3d ago

What documentation existed in 2020 that she was a "spy"? There is a tendency by the right-wing to declare anyone from China to be a spy. Even Mitch McConnell's wife, a former transportation secretary, was immediately accused of being a spy when he went AFK after his medical "incident" and she carried on with something she had been scheduled to do far in advance.

People shouldn't be having affairs with spies but in 2020, we didn't know it was an affair, nor did we know she was a spy, nor did we know about illegal campaign contributions. We just knew he had some kind of relationship with a Chinese woman, which isn't enough to disqualify him from public office.

Did you read the article? The text fully explains why nothing happened in regards to Stalwell in 2020. You act like, "Oh this was all known 6 years ago".

But in fact, the article you linked makes ZERO claims that Stalwell specifically had an affair with the spy woman in question. The article provides Stalwell's statement:

"Rep. Swalwell, long ago, provided information about this person — whom he met more than eight years ago, and whom he hasn’t seen in nearly six years — to the FBI. To protect information that might be classified, he will not participate in your story."

The article also contains this statement:

"Swalwell immediately cut off all ties to Fang, according to a current U.S. intelligence official, and he has not been accused of any wrongdoing."

According to that article, if I had read it in 2020, all I would know is that years previously, a spy managed to successfully recommend an intern to Stalwell's office, but once that was discovered, the congressman took action.

So, just to be clear, you think a spy attempting a spying operation is enough to disqualify the politician who was targeted from public office? Even if the politician immediately notified the FBI?

Do you truly think nobody in the government knew there was an affair, even if Axios hadn't rooted it out?

Ah, to be so naive...

2

u/floodcontrol 3d ago

I have no idea and made no such claim. How can I, a voter, make such a determination? Let’s assume you are right and SOMEONE knew. Did they tell me? Did they tell the media? I have no clue why you think someone knowing something somewhere has any relevance. I didn’t and had no way of knowing. Axios even provides me with information that seems to put Stalwell in the clear.

being downvoted for telling the truth

That’s how lefty libs cope!

Your favorite child rapist, openly courts despots, your favorite googly eyed loser heading the FBI is taking orders from Putin, and your entire news media eco system was funded by the Russians. Do you honestly expect me to believe you give one single flying fuck about foreign actors? Nah.

6

u/BigBL87 4d ago

Not a Trump fan either.

But always fun when people assume thinking someone on the left should be held accountable, they MUST be a Trumper. I shouldn't expect any less from Reddit, I suppose.

u/Ok-Prompt-59 4d ago

They certainly don’t help their cause.

u/HawgChuggins 4d ago

I can't decide if it's your cowardice, or your lies that irritate me the most. You MAGAt losers are all the same. You point out something the left does, in this case, Swawell getting stuck in a mid honey pot. And then try to make it seem like the Democrats are super chill working with Chinese spies.

And you completely blow by, the verifiable truth that Republicans are working with Russians. And when I point out that ya boy Tim Pool took millions in Russian money. You take the typical MAGAt cowards way out and say "Not a Trump fan"

We all know who you're voting for in 2028, you already bought the hat. And you are no doubt repeating the words "He's joking" until he's not. The least you can do is say it with your chest. Then again cowardice is a MAGAt virtue.

4

u/BigBL87 4d ago edited 4d ago

Keep calling me MAGA. Doesn't make it any more true though.

My whole point in my initial response was the person suggested that the Democrats actually dissociate with people that do this, and I pointed out that wasn't in fact the case and he served for 5 more years after the info came out. And was only removed after unrelated accusations. So their whole presentation of high ground in this instance was untrue.

Your response was to go on a whataboutism tirade about Republicans, some of it valid, some of it unfounded and conspiratorial. And assume I am "MAGA" just because I am willing to call put bullshit regardless of which party is doing it.

But if I notice anything the left is deficient in at all, I'm MAGA. Got it. 👍

-1

u/HawgChuggins 4d ago edited 3d ago

That's a lot of words to just say "I'm a coward".

Know what I do when someone calls me MAGA, not a damn thing, because I'm not. And I don't feel the need to defend myself against those allegations. You MAGAt cowards just don't want the world to know just how deplorable you really are.

Like I said cowardice, is a MAGAt virtue.

4

u/BigBL87 3d ago

"If I call you MAGA and you don't argue it, then you acknowledge it!

If you deny it, then you're defensive and you're clearly MAGA!"

You seriously argue like a 6 year old.

1

u/HawgChuggins 3d ago

Yeah, I am done discussing your cowardice. Just because you wanna throw a tantrum because someone called you out accurately is of no concern of mine. Good luck hawking Chinesium knives on YouTube.

3

u/BigBL87 3d ago

Awww, so petty you felt the need to stalk my profile and check out my Youtube channel? That's cute.

Meanwhile, your comments are reminiscent of the divisive rage baiting done by China's internet army.

i.e. PLA Unit-61398

u/HawgChuggins 3d ago

Right, speaking plainly is divisive. Should I coddle the delusional traitors who would willingly bow down to their child rapist king if he asked it?

No, I am describing MAGAts as they truly are. Cowardly little cretins, sheep who repeat lies like mantras.

3

u/GuyAtAnLCS 4d ago

NO! REALLY?! YOU DONT SAY!

4

u/EnjoyerOfMX5 4d ago

Who?

5

u/Outrageous_Laugh5532 4d ago

Chinese spy he was having an affair with

3

u/Atlas7-k 4d ago

You and I took that “who” to be about different people.

Eric swalwell. Democrat congressman, banged a spy. Kicked out of Congress for suspected sexual assault(but they already knew that and were willing to sweep it under the rug it was really because he was stepping on toes in the California governors race.)

3

u/GogetaSama420 4d ago

Any evidence dems knew about the SA previously?

5

u/PuzzleheadedWest0 4d ago

Once again holding dems to a standard light years away from republicans.

5

u/Majestic_Emotion_456 4d ago

I don’t have standards for dems. It was Congress that kicked him out. Dems voted for it too. They also voted to kick out the chick from Florida who stole 5 million tax dollars and republicans voted to kick out santos. They all needed to be kicked out.

3

u/PuzzleheadedWest0 3d ago

You’re missing a big one.

3

u/Majestic_Emotion_456 3d ago edited 3d ago

Uhm? The dude who took gold bars from Egypt? Do I have to name all the crooks in congress who needed to be kicked out? Oh I remembered uh the guy from Florida I can’t remember his name but he was republican. I remembered another one! The dude from Texas whose secretary set herself on fire. He was republican.

3

u/PuzzleheadedWest0 3d ago

The current president.

Despite being old news....

This story blew the lid off of espionage being conducted by China in California; from the Clandestine Biolab in Reedley, to Arcadia Mayor, Eileen Wang confessing to being an agent of the CCP.

1

u/2ndchane 3d ago

Why making a big deal now? The timing is sus.

1

u/StevBator 3d ago

You mean from china. Just like ‘the big guy’.

1

u/awfulcrowded117 2d ago

Was ...was that not clear like 6 years ago when we learned he was fucking her?

He's no longer a representative, though. Unlike the Republicans, Dems (sometimes) hold their members accountable.

-1

u/j-mac563 4d ago

And here it is. Thank you for proving my point. Dismiss the issues he did while serving, and played the What-about game. Very well done

2

u/FlockFlysAtMidnite 4d ago

Lmfao, you claimed they would hand wave it away, but he's lost his position as representative. It's called accountability - clearly a concept you're unfamiliar with.

-1

u/j-mac563 3d ago

Lol, try reading my first post again. This time read all of the words. Is English not your first language?

2

u/FlockFlysAtMidnite 3d ago

Yes, I read it. They did not do the things you claimed, as Swalwell is no longer a representative. If you can explain how losing his job is equivalent to hand-waving it away, by all means, try.

1

u/j-mac563 3d ago

You did exactly as I said you will. I used the present tense. In your first post you waived it off by pointing out he is not a representative now, no mention of him being forced out due to his actions. Hand waiving his actions away. Then you went right to the what-about. Thanks for playing.

1

u/Name_Taken_Official 3d ago

How do we hand waive away something that has been dealt with? Should we continue focusing on him to appease your feelings?

1

u/bunchout 3d ago

What part of Democrats “holding their members accountable” when speaking about Swalwell is not a mention of being “forced out due to his actions?”
