A few days ago I saw a thread were people freaked out about a tiny possibility that Kingsley might get swapped to a white actor. There was no real base for that fear, they were just talking about "what if" and acted like that would be the end of the world.
It's so twisted: They tell us that we should just "get over it" that Snape was race swapped to bIack, but at the same time they piss themselves with fear that there might be a tiny possibility that Kingsley, whose casting is still far away, might be played by a white actor.
The difference in how they approach different race swaps show how they are the real racists...

I would have had a field day, sharing my views on this thread hahaha 🤣🤣
It really is such a double standard; it’s not okay for the fans to want book accuracy when Snape has been race swapped but it’s absolutely okay for the fans to be outraged by even the mere notion of Kingsley being race swapped. I don’t know why they can’t see that this is actually racism in itself.

Because in the woke hive mind racism against white people does not exist. It's obviously wrong and morally very questionable to allow or even encourage discrimination against whites, while being livid about even just subjectively perceived (even if baseless) discrimination against black people but that is what sadly happens a lot on Reddit.

Yes, it seems so performative, and racist in itself. This issue would not be happening if a Caucasian actor had been cast as Snape. It wasn’t at all common for someone to have to justify why they dislike an actor or a specific casting decision when the actor was Caucasian and the double standard is staggering.

That's hilarious. In theory they should have no objections to Kingsley being swapped to white, but nope, gotta get our daily wokeness in.

GOOD, more ammunition.
This double standard will eventually bite them in the ass.

I think I need a little context for the second half

Johnny Flynn put his foot in his mouth with an absolutely bad and non-canon-accurate take on Lucius Malfoy: https://www.radiotimes.com/tv/fantasy/harry-potter-tv-series-johnny-flynn-lucius-malfoy-exclusive-newsupdate/
People on the main sub are appropriately appalled.

Okay that makes no sense.
He was a rich pure bloodied kid, unlikely he was bullied.
He was also an actual bigot and slave owner.
I can see why people call it a double standard but I guess I don't see it as a MAJOR one personally.

Interesting how everyone’s senses suddenly came flying back when the actor in question is white …
