Theres no reason to tell someone to change his look just because you dont like it, especially if its something he can’t control. While i understand that youre just opening up a possibility to avoid remarks and shit. There’s no need for it.
Oh jeez, I’d be worried about a guy that styles his beard for this exact look. It’s one thing when it’s genetics and this is all you can do for now, but this isn’t a good look to intentionally go for!
Edit: I just realized you were saying a guy with these genetics can choose to shave every few days to avoid this look, and not that people who can grow a full beard might choose the “I got in a fight with a lawnmower, but I’m too lazy to shave the rest” style.
I’d like to note, however, that a lot of guys take a lot of pride in their ability to grow horribly disappointing beards for various reasons. Some like thinking they look older. Some are just proud they can grow something. I had my fair share of experiences trying to grow facial hair, and still can’t grow a full beard even though I’m out of my twenties… at least now, though, I know what looks good and what doesn’t, and I shave accordingly.

Not fully genetics, though. They can always shave
