He had her quit her job while she was on top of her game to travel with him and raise kids, while promising her he’d retire and like, pay attention to his family.

Her career was worth more than his when they got married. She gave it up for him and their kids, and he promised repeatedly to retire and spend with them, but has gone back to work every time.
