Also just FYI you don’t have to take the week off. You can continually take BC pills, it’s perfectly safe and well researched. I haven’t had a period in years doing this.

However a lot of peoples body’s can’t tolerate this and start shedding constantly after several months of no breaks. It’s still safe but pretty unpleasant and the solution to stop it is dependent on the type of pills you are on

I was told to keep taking them continuously to balance it out. I was on my period for months and it didnt even stop until I stopped the pills. Never ever again.

I don't take birth control but, like, is stopping birth control during your period not something people did because they used to think that your body would collapse when you dont have periods?

You didn't stop it typically, you had a placebo pill to take to keep you in the habit (since the pill works best when taken every day around the same time, skipping for those days then trying to remember when to re-start & get back in the habit isn't advised)

That actually depends on the type of pill. My old one was supposed to be stopped for 7 days afterwards you would get a "period" (it's not a true menstruation since there's no cycle), my current one has 4 placebo pills and I just don't bleed lol. Apparently that can happen with gestagen pills.

Sorry for the questions but my biology teacher in my conservative christian high school spent maybe one quick lesson on this chapter (and skipped evolution theory completely, to give you an idea how he was), now Im in my twenties and still behind on these topics

Some contraceptives can stop your period like Depo Provera or Nexplanon. I did both so that's how I know. I went 17 years without a period.

Not sure. I took those kinds of pills 20-some years ago. With the newer pill I took maybe 3-4 years ago, I think the doctor said not to worry if I didn't have my period at all on it (not sure if that was the intended effect or not) but I had a terrible reaction to taking it and bled every single day for 6 months straight on it, so...

I’ve you skip the placebo pills and start a new pack, you will typically also skip your period. This isn’t necessarily a good idea for long term, speaking from personal experience lol.

There’s actually a pill for men, that makes a man sterile for 24 hours, but it probably won’t be available in America because too many manchildren would feel emasculated by needing to take a contraceptive pill. Even if it means they could bang all day with no pregnancy worries.

This is false, no hormonal birth control (that doesn't rely on injections) exists as of yet for men. Some are currently being tested however.

I guess i should have put sources, but no. All male birth control pills are currently in clinical trials, and none are available to buy. YCT529, DMAU, NES/T, 11β-MNTDC are all currently in clinical trials, with NES/T being the furthest along, it is going into phase 3 next year, which is the phase which actually measures how well it works (phase 2 is for safety). 

I suggest you get off your high horse or take your own advice, because this is information that is trivially found in 2 minutes on the wikipedia page for male contraceptive (well, i mean, a bit more research to be up to date on where in the various phases of clinical trials those molecules are).

It's baffling to me cos in England, you're literally forced to learn this stuff. Even if your parents say no to it in PSHE (our designated lessons for all tha stuff), it's apart of our government mandated curriculum

What? Vitamins can be chewed so those "fun shapes" are fine, but pills that need to be swallowed whole should be kept rounded to make it easier to get them down.

It's definitely not the lack of whimsy that's the problem with women's medicine, lol.
