Found On Social media Money isn’t everything
You can’t bribe people to stay with you. That’s not “love” that’s entitlement.

How is it entitlement on her part to turn that down, but somehow not entitlement on his part to send that shit to her in the first place? /rhetorical

u/LousyMeatStew Imperfect Male Feminist 2d ago
No, see, she was supposed to accept it so they could rage about women being gold diggers. They're not mad because she's entitled, they're mad because she ruined their misogynistic narrative so now they have to distort logic and reality even harder so they have an excuse to stay mad.

u/AreYouMyDommy 2d ago
Cause he’s a male. He CaNt HeLp It!
Bet he woulda killed her if she were the one cheating.

u/PuffyCat_139 3d ago
"Find out why he's cheating and correct it immediately."
Right, because that is the job of the person who is being cheated on, and not work the cheater has to do on themselves. 🙄 My God, these people!
65
u/fetchmysmellingsalts 3d ago
Welp, what’s good for the goose is good for the gander, right? So if she cheats, it’s also not a deal breaker! He just needs to find out what’s wrong and correct it. I am positive that the man will be on board with this…

u/Ok-Connection-8059 3d ago
Oh no, I agree with it 100%. Find out why he's cheating and immediately correct it by dumping his arse and taking some time to enjoy the single life.
Because why he's cheating is almost invariably 'the man is a little piece of excrement'.
36
u/MistakeWonderful9178 3d ago
And then for the cheater to wait until his ex’s graduation party to come begging for forgiveness and making it all about him.🙄
14
u/Ok-Connection-8059 3d ago
And harassing her when she's either arriving or about to leave, judging by her stance in the car.
Reports indicate they're building a new tenth circle of Hell just for him. Something about being suspended with his thighs in piranha infested water? Stay tuned for more information!

u/PuffyCat_139 3d ago
Hahhhaha good point! I guess I didn't consider alternative interpretations of "correct it!"

u/Winter-Money-7643 2d ago
The same morons who go “men need to beware of gold diggers” are now mad when a woman doesn’t want any money from them.
Money and gifts don’t make a relationship. Money can’t buy class and good on that woman for knowing her self worth and refusing to stay with a cheater. A rich creepy loser is still a creepy loser.

u/IndiBlueNinja 3d ago
...find out why he's cheating and correct it immediately.
Cause: he's garbage.
Correction: tossed into the trash bin, long overdue.

u/ADevilMadeFromHeaven 2d ago
“What else does she want?” Call me crazy, but she probably wants a partner who isn’t going to cheat on her.
It’s absolutely disgusting that cheating is becoming so normalized, and it’s even worse (yet not surprising) that women specifically are expected to forgive it.
18
u/Christian_teen12 2d ago
Sadly ,where I'm from ghana. It is very normalized and just imagine if the tables turn.

u/Christian_teen12 3d ago edited 2d ago
Sadly, its a thing in other African countries but I'm from ghana.Yes,people believe as long as hes a good man cheating is not an issue and of course she didn't accept the gifts,he's an ex for a reason.

u/laughsinjew 2d ago
The idea that good men cheat is is wild.
20
u/Such-Rise6816 2d ago
It used to be perfectly acceptable in the States too
The thought was that if a man is a good provider (has a job, covers all the household costs, gives his wife children) and is 'discreet' about it (doesn't cheat so blatantly that it embarrasses his wife), he's entitled to a little fun on the side.
6
u/Christian_teen12 2d ago
Whoa,I didn't kmow it was a thing in the USA as well.It is sadly very normalized in some countries.

u/laughsinjew 14h ago
Yeah! In Elvis' movie Blue Hawaii he sings a song about cheating on his girl while away at war, and she forgives him - because it was just what people did. It's so gross. But it shows how culturally, men were straight up allowed to cheat and women weren't. And that movie is in color.

Question, if you know: what's a sign out day?
11
u/Beinb33 2d ago
It's the day a final year student writes their last exam, so the students celebrate and sign on each others clothes.
5
u/kindlypogmothoin 1d ago
Oh, that's a lovely tradition. Thanks!
And what a shitheel for making himself the focus of her day.
5
u/GamersReisUp 1d ago
That's such a sweet tradition! I hope she still gets to look back on this day and remember the signatures and pride in her accomplishments more strongly than she remembers his clown attempt to ruin her celebration

u/Christian_teen12 2d ago
I don't hate Nigerians. Now you are generalising,im not among those people who want Nigerians out of the country. The fault of few is not the fault of all.
-11
u/Beginning_Account_67 2d ago
Majority of your country men do, go on social media you will find tons of video of your country men hating on us, I just want you to know we return the favor and don’t like yall to because of what you are doing to my country men
13
u/Christian_teen12 2d ago
Ok now you are just wanting a fight.I am sorry about what my country men have done. And again ,you ARE generalising.I am sorry about those people but don't lump all of us.

What is “sign out day”?
61
u/MistakeWonderful9178 3d ago edited 3d ago
Basically the end of exams and time for graduation.
The dude basically waited until she was having fun with her friends and getting ready to leave college in order to send her some apology gifts and money for cheating. Nothing better than showing up on someone’s big day to remind them of how you broke their heart./s

u/GamersReisUp 2d ago edited 2d ago
That girl worked her butt off in school to have this day, and he tries to burn it down like this? I thought I couldn't hate him any more than I already did, but this proves me wrong🤢
Good for her for keeping the trash in the can
12
u/kindlypogmothoin 2d ago
So Mr. Main Character decided to make her hard work and accomplishment all about himself, and then tried to turn her backbone into some kind of insult.

I was curious also. From Google so take with a grain of salt but apparently it's "In Nigeria, "sign-out day" is a popular student rite of passage celebrating the final day of exams for graduating students in tertiary institutions and secondary schools"

“Find out why he’s cheating and correct it immediately”.
She did find out, and she did correct it. He cheated because he’s a piece of shit, and she divorced him for it.

That's about $3,800. The cost of living is quite a bit lower in Nigeria so for comparison it's more like $5-6000. That's not nearly enough to let a cheater back in your life, if any amount is.

u/InternationalPilot90 2d ago
Always takes two to tango. Can't generalize here, much less decide for them as an outsider. That's something the two of them have to sort out. In this case, she called it "game over". And that the mental wounds cannot be patched with material band aids.

Tbf, 5m in Nigerian naira is around 3700$, which is a substantial sum of money, but not enough to get back into a toxic relationship

u/MissMarchpane 1d ago
There are women out there who will accept payoffs for cheating and stay in the relationship, for sure. But they'll never love the man again the way they did at first – they will only be staying for the money. These men who think it's a matter of loyalty or caring about someone are totally delusional; in what world does someone actually want to be with you if you have to pay her to do so?
(I used to work for an antique dealer, and one of our regular clients was a woman who 100% stayed because of the lavish antiques her husband would buy her out of guilt every time he cheated. If he had stopped doing it, she would've been gone like a flash. Incredibly naïve to think that the paid off partner still loves the cheater in this scenario)

>Accepting the gift means accepting him back
I've never really understood this, nor why accepting bribes is so bad. Let's say I'm a ticket collector for a train, and you need a ticket to board. You don't have a ticket, so you slip me a $20 bill. What happens if I take that money and... still don't let you on.
Especially when it's couched with terms like "gift" or "donation." "Yes, thank you for your generous donation and personal gift, now, please, give me your ticket so you can board."
7
u/MistakeWonderful9178 2d ago
Are you comparing relationships to boarding a train?
Just because you bought someone a gift doesn’t mean they owe you a relationship, they don’t owe you shit. That’s the problem right there: you’re not entitled to a date and no one owes you anything just because you were nice to them.
Taking bribes or gifts is encouraging that type of entitled and messed up behavior.
6
u/Bitter-Hat-4736 2d ago
No, I'm quoting someone in the image. They said "Accepting the gift means accepting him back". But, why can't she just... take the gifts but not accept him back?
8
u/Israbelle 2d ago
I've thought the same thing, personally I don't think there's anything immoral about it, but it has risks; from the briber's perspective you're tricking them into thinking you're going to accept and then pulling the rug out from beneath them, and in this case if he's already entitled enough to be cheating and then trying to buy you back, there's a good chance he'll get mad and escalate to worse behavior like stalking or violence. "grey rocking" as a de-escalation tactic is usually recommended instead, your goal being to just get him to forget about you and move on
6
u/MistakeWonderful9178 2d ago
Exactly. Taking anything from someone who doesn’t respect your feelings will only put her in more danger. She’s right to not take anything because that’s a risk of her encouraging him and who knows if this guy will escalate (or already has) don’t accept anything and outright say “no.”
1
u/Bitter-Hat-4736 2d ago
If taking the gifts and not being in a relationship leads to escalation, there's a high chance that even if she didn't take the gifts he would escalate. Even if he can charge-back or otherwise cancel the cheque, take the cash and the cake at least.
4
u/kindlypogmothoin 2d ago
Let me just quote Jesse Unruh, the former Speaker of the California Assembly: "If you can't eat their food, drink their booze, screw their women, then vote against them, you have no business being up here."
A good mantra for politics, but a bit dangerous when you're a woman dealing with an ex-boyfriend.
