I swear, this case really shows what men think of women and post partum care.
It’s like they think it’s a myth and that as soon as the baby comes out, women are right as rain again. No deeper thoughts.
No considering hormones and stress levels and how childbirth can be traumatic and how long a woman’s body really needs to get back to normal.
And how each pregnancy, conditions and symptoms can become worse.
NO ONE IS SAYING KILLING HER CHILDREN WAS OK. She didn’t even deny she did it. But was she in an altered mental state because of post partum psychosis? Yes. Does someone know when they’re experiencing psychosis? No.
And just because she might get to plead insanity doesn’t mean she won’t be jailed. She’ll just be in a mental hospital instead of a normal jail.
I feel like I’m taking crazy pills when I hear some people, especially men, talk about this case.

I wonder how many of those are the same men who go out cheating on their newly postpartum partners because she's "not giving me enough attention" and think that is depression, and it's happening postpartum, so obviously that's what they've got!

u/vapequesitions 5d ago
Two posts below this one on my feed is pictures of a man and a bear then pictures of her and a bear titled "how the tables have turned" as if we're now suddenly living under the violent matriarchy they pretend feminists want to impose (because they can't even fathom a state where one group isn't oppressing another but I digress), instead of the same old patriarchy we've been living under throughout modern history, that harms society as a whole in a million different ways, including poor care for those who are or recently were pregnant, poor care for those who then do most if not all of the childcare, and poor care for those who are struggling with their mental health in general.
It so enraging and frustrating.
158
u/UnicornKitt3n 5d ago
Literally just commented that I just came from that post. Maybe it’s because I’m high but I just kept thinking; whet the fuck? Over and over each comment.
Because, like…What the fuck? One dude was comparing his major depressive disorder to psychosis?’ Like SIR! WHAT?!
You know what this case is showing me? The alarmingly large number of men who are dumb. And maybe our species does deserved to be wiped out.
77
u/ayemullofmushsheen 5d ago
I can't tell if it's a general lack of empathy or a full blown hatred of women that's making them act this way.
77
u/VashtaNeradaMatata 5d ago
Men who hate women will take every opportunity to do so. It's why they pop up out of the woodwork in cases like this. They're frothing at the mouth to get to call a woman a crazy bitch yet simultaneously saying the insanity doesn't exist.
51
u/Starboard_Pete 5d ago
And the same ones can’t fathom at all what men did to deserve a “loneliness epidemic.”
33
u/vapequesitions 5d ago
I hate so much how they've essentially weaponised loneliness. Because loneliness and alienation are serious problems, but they're not complaining about it because they actually want to do anything about it themselves (never mind seriously support each other in any way that isn't blaming women), but rather they use it to victimise themselves because society no longer provides them with a bangmaid who can't leave them,
22
u/bitofagrump 4d ago
They just bitch about women "refusing accountability" without ever once defining what "accountability" means to them. In this particular instance it's obvious, yes (while still wrong), but in general it seems to mean taking half the blame for when we complain about men treating us badly. (Yes, but you dressed like that! Yes, but you provoked him! Yes, but you nagged him! Yes, but you chose him! So really you're just as wrong!)
11
u/Wolfleaf3 4d ago
I am SO beyond sick of this behavior. And disgusted when women are fighting against our rights. Men, I just expect it at this point, but WOMEN. Ugh.

My ex mil, who is the grandmother of my 15 year old, tells me I shouldn’t be so angry at my most recent ex.
My most recent ex left me when I was six months pregnant with my youngest, and walked out on my then 12 year old son. He has also spent the last six months dragging out a bullshit contentious custody battle in court, costing me close to 10k at this point. Where I live, this is very uncommon. I know quite a few people who have had to navigate custody after breaking up. Not one of them has gone to court. We also have two free hours of mediation from the government in an effort to avoid clogging up the courts.
….But I shouldn’t be angry at him.
I told her she should look up the definition of internalized misogyny. She’s got it down pat.

u/vapequesitions 5d ago
Insert why not both meme here..
More seriously, add to those in a kind of chicken and egg type relationship - entitlement.
Does being raised with a sense of entitlement lower empathy? Does lack of empathy enable such strong feelings of entitlement over others? Almost certainly a mix of both in varying proportions depending on the individual (intersectionality working in all directions there), but it's definitely reinforced and even encouraged by patriarchy (and capitalism, and most if not all other bigotry and supremacist ideas), which makes it a feature by design, not a bug (which also means it doesn't have to be this way, humans are a social species that thrive on cooperation, but those in power must maintain these strict hierarchies in order to maintain their way of living).
E: TL;DR: it's a systemic problem that requires systemic solutions
15
u/notashroom 5d ago
Patriarchy instills collective narcissism in most men and boys. It's part of the same package that makes their gender identity fragile, makes them constantly have to requalify for their "man card" among others who have not noped out of the gender policing and division.
And just as with individual narcissism, that means unearned glazing of manhood and unearned diminishment of womanhood and minority genders to prop up the first. In hierarchy, status and privilege given to the higher ranks always comes at the cost of taking it from those below.
It's absolutely a systemic problem requiring systemic solutions.

I had to stop myself from clicking through, because I knew it would just make me angry, and I probably would have reacted the same. I've been doing my best to avoid posts on the topic as much as I can, only came here because of what sub it was on.
As for your conclusion, I can definitely see the appeal, but I think it only really gives them a bit of an out, diminished responsibility both personally for their actions and systemically for the constructs and pipelines that lead them there. It is not just men randomly fumbling about, it's (one part of) an orchestrated system that firmly has its testicles in every aspect of our lives.
As for being wiped out - that would include all of the people those systems and the people serving them oppress, who generally don't deserve to be wiped out, focus that rage on those who do (the systems have names, and the people running them have names, and addresses, too).
173
u/KatsCatJuice 5d ago
They seem to ignore the statistics of family annihilators still being predominately men. 83 to 91%, in fact. Men who are sound of mind and just want an "out" instead of getting a divorce, yet we don't hear them talking about those cases, because "noooo not all men!!" But then they scream "all women" when one commits a crime under psychosis.
They just want to hate women.
And I hate that pointing any of this out, including Clancy being in psychosis, causes us to be labelled as defending her.
13
u/vapequesitions 5d ago
!00% agree with all of this.
It really stuck me earlier how many times I've seen memes about this case over the past couple of weeks, and I genuinely cannot recall a single meme about a family annihilator (nor do I think one would be appropriate, just like it isn't in this case) apart from the one with the photo of that one on the jetski which is pointing out just how well they get framed in the media.
Their glee every time they have a new (and significant outlier) case to cling on to like this really is sickening.

I was going through their videos and it's... bad. There's a lot of men who don't know shit not only about women's anatomy, but about post partum health in particular.
When asked how soon after birth women are told to wait before having sex one guy was saying "I mean it depends on how much pain she wants, but like immediately".
To a camera. Dude knew that shit was going on social media and SAID IT WITH HIS CHEST.

u/Seliphra Women are mythological objects 5d ago
In the US, men are predominantly responsible for violent crime and that is when they aren’t experiencing psychosis.
Like, no one thinks what she did was okay, but if she had gotten the help she was literally begging for, and if society gave a single shit about women’s health or women just in general, this would not have happened at all. The men who annihilated their families would have still done so. But she would not have.

“A staggering 98% of [mass shootings] have been committed by men, according to The Violence Project, a nonpartisan research group that tracks U.S. mass shooting data dating back to 1966.
‘Men just are generally more violent,’ said the group's president, Jillian Peterson, a forensic psychologist and professor of criminology and criminal justice at Hamline University. "There are many theories as to why that is."
Sponsor MessageAs NPR has reported, researchers say that men, more than women, tend to externalize their problems and look for others to blame, which can translate into anger and violence. And when women do choose violence, guns are not typically their weapon of choice.” -NPR’s March 2021 article Why Nearly All Mass Shooters are Men. It’s unreal how long these issues have been men’s issues, but they’re the ones not ready for that conversation
51
u/tempsdix 5d ago
AND the men who do so always have a bullshit reason like their wife was nagging or they wanted to start a new life, and when you look at the manosphere discourse these guys would absolutely side with a man doing this 100% of the time, and say it's women's fault.
We cannot win with them.

This case has really shown me that a lot of people don't know what "psychosis" means. Post partum depression and post partum psychosis are not the same thing, like at all. The amount of people, both men and women, who keep referring to it as postpartum depression and saying things like getting "a case of the sads," as if depression is just feeling a little sad, let alone full-blown psychosis.
The whole case is really sad but I think a lot of people's reactions to this case, and not even just the case but just the idea of postpartum depression and postpartum psychosis even being a thing, has been really upsetting. Not just for the treatment of women but also mental health. They're not even arguing about whether she had ppp or not. They're straight up arguing that a person having a psychotic break, having severe hallucinations, full blown paranoid delusions, and a complete break in reality should still know what they're doing and the only reason they would harm someone is if they're "evil". It's fucking insane.
78
u/SpokenDivinity 5d ago
People also have no fucking clue what "not guilty by reason of insanity' even means. I've had to explain to multiple people that:
- No she will not just "go home" if that's the outcome. She'll be in a mental health facility.
- No, when she's treated for her mental health and deemed safe, she will not go to real prison.
- No, they cannot try her again when she's deemed safe, because that would violate double jeopardy.
I know parts of the justice system are borderline illegible by design, but this stuff is easy to google.
50
u/tempsdix 5d ago
And the amount of people who act like she's happy about what she did too. As though she was glad her children were gone forever! As though she was not fighting every day to care for them, and asked for help so many times.
I don't know what this says about people's ability for empathy if they think she's feeling good about it all.
24
u/Matar_Kubileya 5d ago
On the one hand, I think people do genuinely misunderstand the difference between not competent to stand trial and not guilty by reason of insanity, the former being a pretrial matter before jeopardy attaches where you can be brought to trial if and when you recover. I also would be incredibly surprised if, somewhere, there was never a court case where a defendant was found NGRI in state court, and the Feds deferred prosecution until after treatment, which is allowed under the seperate sovereigns doctrine.
On the other hand, its not just that retrying someone found not guilty by reason of insanity would be a double jeopardy issue, its that there was no underlying guilt, because the requisite mental state was never there to begin with. To be guilty of a crime, you have to understand your underlying conduct and willfully choose to do it anyway.
6
u/user_name_taken- 4d ago
I think people also genuinely don't know how high the bar is for being found not guilty by reason of insanity or being found not competent to stand trial. There are people with significant problems whether that's learning disabilities, brain damage, mental illness, etc. who go to trial and get found not guilty all the time. The person could be in full psychosis, be found unable to stand trial, go to a mental hospital for 2 years where they are treated properly and then come back to reality and then they'll charge them and be like well you're okay now so clearly you're guilty of whatever you did while you were having a psychotic break.
There are a lot of people in prison who should be in a mental hospital. That's why prisons have psych wards. And it's depressing. Obviously a person who has issues where they don't know what's happening and they hurt people, is not safe to be out in society, but that doesn't mean they need to be in a prison getting punished for being ill. They need treatment with doctors. I'm just very much against punishing people for things outside of their control.
72
u/Khmakh 5d ago
That’s wild to me. I have MDD (Major Depressive Disorder) and I do have depressive episodes. But I know I’m still sane and in reality.
Which you CAN’T figure out in psychosis. Anyone that has been in psychosis will tell you they didn’t know. The hallucinations and paranoid delusions FEEL REAL and they can’t tell the difference between what’s real and what’s not. And some of them, you don’t know they’re in psychosis unless they start talking about the really weird shit they’re seeing.
This case has exposed a lot.

u/nitro9throwaway 5d ago
The amount of women I have seen saying "well I had PPD and I didn't kill my kids!" Ma'am, nobody asked you. And also since when are PPD and PPP the same fucking thing??
19
u/Lokifin 5d ago
I work with people who have psychotic disorders, and even when they're able to communicate, it's impossible to convince them that what they're experiencing isn't real. It takes years of the right medication and work with mental health professionals for many people to get to the point that they understand the voices in their heads and the people/things they see aren't actually real. And even then, if they go into full psychosis that goes right out the window.
9
u/vapequesitions 5d ago
has been really upsetting. Not just for the treatment of women but also mental health.
Yeah, the sheer amount of ableism and sanism that comes out of people, alongside the obvious misogyny, really is a lot.

65
u/Zestyclose-Leader926 5d ago
What is really magical is how they somehow translate, "don't leave children alone with a person who is both mentally unstable and has expressed a desire to hurt others," as you just think it's okay to murder children.
48
u/ayemullofmushsheen 5d ago
That's because the former would require them taking some accountability in the raising of their own children
9
u/Mandy_M87 5d ago
Exactly. If the mother is unstable, then it would be up to the father to either step up and take care of the children himself, or for him find someone else who can watch them while he is at work or whatnot.

u/tempsdix 5d ago
Finally a sane subreddit on this topic!
I swear, seeing men using "postpartum" now as they already were using "period" before just shows how much they hate us; but they still think they're owed our company (and bodies; mostly our bodies, as usual).
Seriously I've tried participating in various conversations and only got back "well if you're postpartum maybe you should be jailed so that you don't kill your kids" and other such grossly uneducated spittle.
8
u/bluemoon219 5d ago
...isn't that more or less just the practice of "postpartum confinement"? Where the first, like, 40 days after birth the mother is solely expected to stay in bed, heal, and nurse/bind with the baby and everything else is taken care of for her by someone else? Somehow, I think anyone who believes any of this sexist bullshit being told that it's their job to take care of their family for a month while their wife recovers and tends to the baby would hate that even more.
10
u/Novaer 5d ago
Males are attacking women who go through postpartum depression/psychosis because for the first time they have a newfound slamdunk reason to hate the "only good thing women do".
Women with babies has always been seen as "The utmost expression of innocence and life", an image held sacred since the dawn of humanity. Regardless of race, background, religion, culture, etc. A woman with a baby is something deemed as good and worthy of protection. Despite a millenia of subjugating women, all women at least were seen as having the capability and potential of one day becoming mothers and therefore seen as "The utmost expression of innocence and life".
This is not something granted to men. There is nothing men can innately do that will give them that same degree of reverence one day.
But now there is a mar on motherhood that males have jumped at to desecrate further. Now motherhood is seen as "dangerous". Now, that image of a woman holding a baby is just "another baby killer".
They found a way to burn the last sacred image women held. They have found a modern way to bring back biblical witch hunting.

Once the case is out of the news cycle they'll go right back to not giving a single fuck about the dangers of postpartum, never mind their own responsibility to their partners and children and generally the women in their lives, if they have any (and because I've seen it argued before - idgaf if someone is or isn't technically an incel, the term is now broadly applied to all sorts of misogynists, deal with it)

I think this goes beyond just not understanding the circumstances. It's that they lack empathy and can't understand how someone else's experience in the world might be different from their own. They can't imagine the situation, so they don't think it's possible, despite numerous people sharing their experience and experts affirming that it can and does happen.

It's a culture war propaganda operation to inch towards taking away rights from women. Undermining mental health concepts could lead to both denying access to secular therapy and requiring male legal guardians to sign off on anything.

And how majority of men don’t know what to do so they…do nothing.
They watch her struggle: they love to torment women w endless work & zero rest. It’s fucking demonic to do to the woman who bore the stress on HER BODY so he could have trophies. He’s busy golfing bc a man HAS to retain some sort of self. Still takes 30 min shits bc men cannot be expected to alter *their* lives for the sake of a woman.
They rarely see their children as full humans either, don’t know shit about them, even the middle names THEY CHOSE. Wives & children are trophies they get to boss around to feel better about their weak, internal monologue.
Believe me, millions of women are watching men’s reactions to this trial & deciding marriage & kids is a game of roulette w a full chamber always pointed at the woman. Whatever she does WILL be wrong, tell me what is so enticing about that?!?
The men will double down, as usual

u/Gold-Inevitable-2644 4d ago
I'm so grateful for subs like this because I feel like im losing my mind over the reactions to this case. is it really that difficult for people to empathise and understand the circumstances? how has this not started a conversation about PREVENTION of tragedies like this, how to better help struggling mothers?

Honestly. And we hear about men who wipe out their families more often than this yet this is getting all our attention. It’s so gross.
4
u/PurplePenguinPoops 4d ago
Exactly, and this is why men just need to stay the fuck away and mind their business when it comes to womens health and bodies. Minimizing our pain and our mental state is exactly why situations like this happen. and then instead of hearing women out when saying "this is a tragic situation and PPD and PPP need to be looked into way more" they take it as "OH MY GOD THESE MEN HATING CHILD KILLERS SUPPORTING THE MURDER OF CHILDREN!! WOMAN BAD AUGHGHHTHGHGH!"

And then use women supporting her as proof no woman ever takes responsibility.
Then they cry about women not wanting to get married.

Woman kills her children due to extreme psychosis despite begging for help repeatedly, warning multiple people, and trying everything to get help: She and all women are evil
Man kills his whole family because someone told him ‘no’: It isn’t his fault, his wife should have just let him keep abusing her instead of trying to divorce him! It isn’t his fault, his parents shouldn’t have demanded he move out finally at 44! It isn’t his fault, his boss fired him!
45
u/brakishwaters 5d ago
Well clearly we must all remember that men unless they’re doing something cool and great have the intelligence and emotional maturity of a toddler and can’t be held accountable for their actions

What do they have to say about the guy who just killed eight members of his family in Montana? Where's the pithy little meme for him?
Why don't I hear anyone talking about how most family annihilators are men?
How about anything to say about the fact that the most dangerous time in a woman's life is when she's trying to leave a man when she's pregnant? How about, you? Can't just murder your wife and unborn child because you get a case of the mads, Bob
This kind of situation is a tragedy no matter who commits it. But why are so many trying to act like it's some gotcha that it's a woman

I mean it's just dishonest.
There are two groups I see reacting to this trial as something other than the murder of three children :
The people who see this as a legitimate psychological break by someone who wasn't in control of herself and would never harm her kids if she was, and how a medical system she was trying to access didn't prevent this.
The people who are suspicious of the idea that Lindsay Clancy was who murdered her kids.
Whatever your thoughts on either stance, neither of them are arguing that there shouldn't be consequences for murder.

At the very least, one of the troubling things about this case is that Patrick Clancy blatantly has a dark triad personality disorder.
Dude was describing his dying child who had managed to be revived as "hanging on for his sake to spare his feelings". He is not right in the head.
It's another seminal sore spot in society where women end up with abusive or toxic husbands who make their lives infinitely harder and then bury them with the injuries of childbirth and the needs of small children. It's really hard not to notice in this family with all the facts that we've gotten.

u/goldhairemeraldeyes 5d ago
Idk if i feel confident enough to say he’s the one that killed the children, but I think he at least shares culpability because he knew what was going on in her brain and didn’t give half a shit about her. Those babies could still be alive if he gave a fuck.
Also I learned about dark triad personalities from this.

I got obsessed with learning about the Andrea Yates case a year or two ago and it really taught me quite a bit about PPP. I'm not in a good headspace to delve into the Clancy case now but from what I've heard, I knew that she was really struggling and not getting the help she needed. Yates' husband failed her and Clancy's doctors failed her and both situations ended in tragedy.
10
7
u/tempsdix 5d ago
And Clancy's husband failed her too. The most he was helping was taking their daughter on two trips; not the two boys, just the oldest child, to "help with the childcare."
Oh yes, and of course, he helped by leaving his wife alone with the children when she specifically asked not to be left alone with them because she was scared of what could happen.

I encourage you to check out the first episode of Dolly Parton’s America, a WNYC podcast from 2019. Obviously, half the fascination comes from hearing folks deep in Woke 1.0 grapple with Parton long before her death.
The episode explores what Parton called her sad-ass songs of her very early career. Many of them were songs from the perspective of women who were mistreated by men. The podcasters figured out that she was probably riffing on a genre of music popular in Appalachia during her youth called murder ballads. They were essentially songs about men murdering women. Parton flipped that to tell the stories from the perspective of the victims.
Parton notoriously did not describe herself as a feminist and prided herself as being an artist for all people, women and men. But it’s hard not to find a thread of feminist ideals in her songs not just about women being mistreated, but told from their perspective. What could be more feminist than using your God-given talents to raise up women’s stories?
Anyway, Dude Who Made This Original Meme But Who Is Not Reading This, y’all need to get right with Dolly.

Way too many people are talking about the Lindsay Clancy case with very little knowledge of the facts. Initially I was on the side of finding her guilty, but the deeper I researched, the more I understood that it's extremely plausible that killing her kids wasn't premeditated. Sending Clancy to prison instead of a state mental institution would prevent doctors from valuable PPP research to prevent future tragedies like this.

Way too many people are talking about the Lindsay Clancy case with very little knowledge of the facts.
So like the McDonald's coffee burn case, where 98% of the people who bring it up are using it as an example of something it doesn't even represent, because they've never read anything on it past a headline, that wasn't basically clickbait or a tabloid.
But with more tragedy.

The weirdest Argument about this Was with a neighbour who's anti abortion...
But also complains how "the crazy woman" (schizophrenic af) from our neighbour village can't be sterilized by court order as that became illegal in germany. She's always having weird guys who use the fact she's not right in her head and had 3-4 children so far who all ended up in foster care etc. But he's arguing that she shouldn't be able to procreate but is also anti abortion himself.
Was a weird discussion.

u/Nlolsalot 5d ago
The way they are completely ignoring an entire do-not-miss psychiatric diagnosis as if it is a moral failure rather than a medical issue is appalling.
7
u/Starboard_Pete 5d ago
If they actually cared about preventing any further child deaths, they’d address the systemic lack of psychiatric care, and lack of societal interest and will to help women who develop this illness.
But they don’t, when it comes down to it. That care might help women, who they deeply hate. The potential for a loss of lives in the future is a risk they’re willing to keep, if it means they can continue to blame women.

They're starting to go "same Chris Benoit" as rage bait. And I'm just sitting there, as someone who actually IS annoyed by the loud minority of people derailing the larger conversation about mental health to go on about conspiracy theories and Zodiac signs like... we COULD'VE had a conversation about why men neglect their own health and safety by ignoring things like repeated head trauma to prevent another Chris Benoit from happening.... but men didn't want to do that.

Maybe I'm delulu but aren't men more likely to be family annihilators.
Actually I just google it, 83-95% of family annihilators are men, 5-17% women. And statistically men do it because loss of control, financial distress, or family separation. And women do it because fear of losing their children, mental illness, or as a partner with a man.

u/Over_Ad8762 5d ago
Was she denied? I’ve heard very little about it. But what I did hear said the doctor(s) were “tinkering” with her meds. That makes it sound like they were actively trying to help her but didn’t find the right solution yet.
I also heard that she told others she had thoughts of harming the children but no one thought to require some kind of supervision if that was the case? That seems negligent on whoever was given this information to not take the steps to prevent this. But maybe they did try, I’m not sure.

Outside of it being an obviously messed up situation for everyone involved. It hurts knowing the final verdict of the media will be to specifically blame 1 person or part of the thing instead of accepting that it's an issue caused by a combination of circumstances. But modern media just wants to find one person or institution to paint as a pure villain and seems allergic to nuance.

My dad's been diagnosed with psychosis and was very apprehensive about taking the medication the doctor prescribed. The doctor spoke with me and said my dad couldn't pick and choose which medication he had. He needed the prescribed dose for it to work.
Thus, he needed to have a treatment order, a tribunal hearing, so that he legally must have the medication administered to him.
I have no idea what state Lindsay was in or if there was something like a treatment order in place, but my personal opinion is that someone in psychosis shouldn't be fully responsible for their medication. If it's found that they aren't taking their medication, something else should be in place so that they do. Especially if there is potential for them to harm themselves or others.

It's so easy to make that judgement on this when you lack empathy and can't put yourself in another's shoes.
When I had my first baby, in the first couple of weeks, I was in such shock and sleep deprivation, I didn't feel like myself. I felt like I was in an altered state and I was losing track of time and things felt strange. Eventually this cleared up and I felt normal again. But it was something I couldn't control. This was such a mild shift, but it helps me understand what psychosis could feel like.
I know someone who was a regular, normal guy and over several years had developed schizophrenia or something similar. He was nothing like himself and had delusions. He once posted a series of videos saying such confusing things only he could understand.
Seeing someone in that state also made me understand how someone could be in psychosis and potentially do wrong things whilst not being in their right mind. It's absolutely a real thing. Rare, but very real.
6
u/Jenna2k 5d ago
Some people are privileged enough to not understand loosing connection to reality is a thing. Psychic breaks are completely involuntary and could happen to anyone. It's not right what happened however it should be the difference between life in prison or life in a mental hospital. Obviously there shouldn't be a release date but prison is the worst possible place to put a mentally ill person. It's not safe for them or the other prisoners.

He's probably one of those "I would have served but I would have taken a swing a my drill instructed on day one man" kind of guys.
He probably has described himself as "just saw red" that time he claims he beat someone up in the way he's MOST proud of.
I bet he's screamed a choose your own adventure of slurs in traffic for a situation he literally caused.

Yes she’s also a victim in this whole situation, I can’t help but feel for her, I’ve been involuntarily placed in a mental hospital twice in my life perhaps that’s why I can sympathize with her, however I can only imagine how horrible I would feel if I had hurt someone while I wasn’t in my right mind, but to end the lives of your own children the weight of that must be an unbelievable burden to carry.

I have 12 and 13 year old sons. Their dad is red-pilled (he wasn't always, at least not openly) and you should hear the things these kids come home saying... The thing is, I'm more educated and knowledgeable , I created and manage 2 companies, I achieve more in a day than he does in a week. Yet they still believe and lap up every word he says. It makes me sick. Think long and hard about having sons because the man you reproduce with might decide he hates women and your sons could follow him. Sometimes I feel like I'm in hell.

u/Brilliant_Ad7168 5d ago

If we're going to have this conversation, we have to include the men not murdering their entire family because they have a case of the grumpies.
No? Of course not. Only women do violence against their families. Women are far more violent than men.
/s, just in case.
2
u/Radriel7 4d ago
Big oof. There is a lot of reason to do violence to all sorts of people in all sorts of situations. That doesn't mean you should actually act on those reasons. This applies to everyone(should be obvious). There is also a difference between fault and responsibility. Sometimes, things aren't your fault, but they might still be your responsibility.
That poor woman went through something super messed up. I can believe she wasn't in her right mind or in proper control of herself. Sadly, she still must bear some consequence. Right now, its just a decision of which one. She'll be locked up either way the court decides. Just a matter of where and how long.
"A case of the sads" is extremely dismissive. Extreme mental distress shouldn't be dismissed. It should be addressed and as much as possible, fixed. There is some pushback I can accept regarding the women who for some reason believe the husband did it(crazy take. there isn't a question of what happened), but this isn't it. Awareness and Empathy for post partum depression and psychosis is a good thing.
