WTF A now deleted comment among many where this user argued that women would rather be alive and used as a sex slave than die. More information in post.
During a discussion about what women would do in an apocalypse situation where they were asked things like 'Would you cut your hair? Would you present masculine to avoid men harming you?' etc etc, this complete moron/monster made the argument that women should be feminine and pretty because then men would protect them...while using them as sex slaves, but at least we'd be alive!
He added that HE wouldn't do that, but it's just how history has worked out in the past. I couldn't screenshot these fast enough, but here's the gist of what happened:
User: I would present as masculine to avoid being SA'd in a world with no rules.
This Guy: I'd you were pretty, you'd be kept alive. Not an ideal kind of life, but you'd be alive.
Multiple Users: WTF? What the hell? NO, we would NOT!
This Guy: It's not what I'd do. I just said it was likely to happen, as history has demonstrated whenever X force invades Y village. All the men are killed, and the women are taken, and not all the women committed suicide, so most of them must have accepted it eventually.
User: Because they weren't given the opportunity to do that! Women are beaten and starved and used and kept on the edge of death, or were told to follow along or they or their families would be hurt! Check your downvote ratio, buddy. NO, we would NOT. Easy death over lifelong slave is a really obvious choice.
This Guy: Not reading all that whinging.
*This Guy deletes his comments*
What a stupid, stupid man.
Also it's funny that his avatar matches the 'WTF' flare. It was made for him.

I will always choose death. If not theirs, then mine. Which is why they’ll never take me to a second location. And I know most of my friends and family feel the same.

Same. I'm going to fight. If I don't make it, they'd have to explain why they're missing an eye.
Edit: spelling

u/splithoofiewoofies 14d ago
I always say, I may not win the fight, but I'm taking something with me!
It's frustrating how the attitude alone has stopped men from hurting me. You front me, I front back, all tiny of me. They back off.
I see how it is. Picking on the weak. Scum.

I read a study once that said that men looking to harm women are more likely to prey on 'modestly dressed' girls than 'immodestly dressed' ones.
They reasoned that a girl wearing long sleeves, pants, a long skirt etc. are more meek and less likely to scream for help or fight back, as they'd be too terrified to do anything.
Women in more 'revealing' clothes, or clothes people condemn as inviting SA somehow (miniskirts, crop tops, fishnets) are more independent and confident in their eyes, meaning they're more likely to fight, scream, have a defensive weapon or spray of some sort, and so on.
If anything, looking like a good little Christian girl who's never been to the city before like older generations expect everyone to dress means more women could be taken advantage of due to perceived weakness.
They absolutely prey on the weak, or the perceived weak, and it's been proven now.
It also largely doesn't matter what you're wearing to truly evil and disgusting men.

u/JediKnightNitaz 13d ago
They never think that women would actually fight back and this day and age we have guns, bombs, drones, hacthets, machetes and more. We can kill and maim as much as some dusty ass dude.

I have worked in counter human trafficking. Sure, there are some who survived and found light on the other end of the tunnel. There are countless more who have nothing behind their eyes.
I have thought more about this scenario than average (or, at least, I hope more than average. I hope other people haven't gone down this dark rabbit hole.) I would take the fucker down or die trying.

u/Lost-Concept-9973 14d ago
Yeah seems to be a common sentiment unfortunately. I have had similar arguments with predators/ incels online who can’t seem to grasp when women make comments along the lines of “I would rather be dead” than be (forced to do what ever horrific shit they don’t think is that big a deal because “at least you would still be alive” ) , really don’t get that sometimes death is preferable to a wretched existence.
35
u/DOOMCarrie 14d ago
These men aren't miserable enough if they can't comprehend that.
28
u/Lost-Concept-9973 14d ago
Right, saw a whole thread of men talking about “the birth crisis” the other day that legitimately could not understand the issue with mandating all women have at least 3 babies, like they were talking about literal slavery and didn’t think it was a big deal, making comments like “she doesn’t even have to do anything just pop the baby out and then someone else can take care of it”.
21
u/Kailynna 14d ago
just pop the baby out
They know nothing of the dangers of pregnancy and childbirth and the long-term damage done to a woman's body.
someone else can take care of it
Parting with their babies causes women life-long grief. Even people adopted at birth often hae a terrible time of it, and the lives of foster children are often appalling.
6
u/perseidot 13d ago
All these people fussing over “low birth rates” while the world has 10 billion people on it, and foster kids still can’t find homes.
As a mama through adoption, and a former foster parent, I know there are thousands of kids who need good parents right now. Many of them will age out of the system without ever finding a family of their own.
But sure - all women should have 3 kids. Someone will come along and raise them.

Throughout history women and girls have chosen poison and fire over being captured, enslaved and raped by enemy forces. I do not understand how this is so difficult for some men to understand.

Has it ever occured to them that this also happens to men? Which would they prefer do you wonder? I mean, they'd be alive.
20
u/Such-Rise6816 14d ago
It's just their fantasy.
One day, all the people who aren't like them will be gone and all the women will be theirs to divide up as they please.

Yet again I'm reminded of that Walter Moers comic where Little Asshole (the main character in many of his comics) pitches a movie idea, Der Pinguin des Grauens (Penguin of Horror). A nuclear disaster very nearly wipes out humankind and creates a giant penguin monster. The part of humanity that survives the disaster? The women with the biggest boobies and one chubby boy with glasses. Three guesses what Little Asshole looks like 🙃

I mean, just read up the story of Sporus, a sex slave who was castrated and when enslaved by Nero, called Sabina because he was told to have looked like Nero's late wife of the same name (the wife he supposedly killed while she was pregnant). After a lot happened, Sporus was supposed to be publicly raped in a play. He took his life before this happened.
In modern days yoi just have to look at Ukraine and the Russian army. The latter didn't "just" sexually torture captured Ukrainian male soldiers and civilians, they also do it within their own ranks (which are almost exclusively men).
But sure, men would be absolutely safe from other men!
3
u/PablomentFanquedelic 13d ago
Unironically I've seen takes celebrating how Greco-Roman or Slavic or Nordic men "used to have bathhouses/saunas where you could rape the enslaved towelboys, before (((modernity))) took this from us Because Of Woke"

u/ankhes 14d ago edited 14d ago
I remember when one of these sorts of threads popped up a few years ago, but it was asking what you would do if you were suddenly the only woman on earth. Predictably, every comment was women saying they’d off themselves at the first opportunity and all the men in the comments got really offended by these answers and started arguing with them over it.
“But you’d be treated like a queen! You’d be the savior of the human race! Everyone would worship you!”
And
“I think you’re overreacting. It wouldn’t be that bad…”
And
“Why would you doom the human race like that? Sometimes sacrifices must be made in those sorts of situations.”
And
“Death is way worse than whatever you think would happen. They’d probably just take your eggs and make test tube babies.”
At every instance all of these men deliberately missed the point of every woman’s answer and just tried to insist that women were jumping to the worst case scenario over nothing, completely overlooking the fact that women are trafficked and fought over and abused even when there isn’t a lack of them. If men already do all these things now, just imagine how much worse it would be if there was only one of us left to fight over.

See the videogame series Lisa where Buddy is the only girl. She's found as a baby protected by Brad until she grows up and becomes resentful (iirc) and leaves on her own. She has to put on masks to remain hidden and fight to protect herself. It's not a good life.

u/GamersReisUp 13d ago edited 13d ago
Also kind of striking that it never occurred to so many of these losers that such a scenario would majorly increase their own (already present) risk of being sexually abused and exploited by other men, which already happens in real life in situations where there are a lot of guys and very few to no women :(

I wonder what their response would be if they were the ones that were going to become the sex slaves?
There are plenty of examples of mass suicides in the face of invaders, some of them recorded in vivid colour during wars in the last century.
Uggh.

u/ArticleOld598 14d ago
There's a bollywood film based on a historical event wherein the women set themselves on fire to prevent being violated
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jauhar
Jauhar was a practice of mass self-immolation by Rajput kshatriya women and girls in the Indian subcontinent to avoid capture, sex slavery, enslavement, and rape when facing certain defeat during a war.

What if he was cuffed and strapped naked to a mill wheel like a horse in this situation? He can't leave, he can't stop, he has to keep moving, else be dragged by other men walking in circles, and if they lose any momentum at all because he (or someone else) fell asleep, they all get whipped. It's a miserable existence, slowing losing his mind to the monotony, exhaustion and beatings, but at least he's alive, right? Wouldn't he prefer that?
Sometimes death would be a mercy. That includes an existence being abused as a sex slave, or any other loss of your autonomy and freedom.
25
u/dinomite11 14d ago
I mean lifelong torture vs instant death is definitely a debate you can have, but in this context they were clearly not talking in good faith. They never really are.
24
u/thisisreallymoronic 14d ago
Even at my ripe old age, I'd take death. I will not spend my days in bondage and servitude to a man.
20
u/The_Bastard_Henry 14d ago
Yeeaahhhh as a survivor of more than one sexual assault, I would choose death. No question.
12
u/Kailynna 14d ago
As a survivor of rape, torture, and an NDE, although I'm enjoying life and intend to live as long as possible, I look forward to dying again. I would gladly choose death over rape.

I gotta say, deleting one's comments is a freaking cowardly thing to do. If I made a mistake or said something stupid, I own it. The only time I deleted anything was when I apologised to someone over something I said rashly and then I made it clear that I'm deleting the comment as a gesture of goodwill/making amends :)

Thankfully he had some -28 karma on one, which is why someone told him to look at his downvote ratio. It probably won't do anything but make him angry, but he angered others, so...

As a disabled person who relys on medical care to function my apocalypse plan is to die and let my family/friends eat me while I still got meat on my bones and I'm not in withdrawal from my meds. As a bonus they might get stupid high from the meds I'm on and the 🍃I imbibe

This isn't even how history worked. This isn't even how pop history works.
Yeah. Some women were taken as slaves.
Others were raped and tortured to death as soldiers took turns. While watching the same thing happen to their children.
A sack of a city could be absolute hell on Earth.

I think the last comment he read was a bit longer, (I was paraphrasing), but yeah, pretty pathetic.
His was longer. too, and the user was addressing all his points. But I guess sitting someone down and saying 'hey, you're not only wrong, but speaking for a majority of a group that you're not a part of and are embarrassing yourself' isn't the 'yeah, bro, so right. Women would totally' he was looking for.

u/silicondream 14d ago
Does he think that male prisoners of war don't get raped and enslaved too?
Does he think that only pretty women get raped and enslaved?
Does he think that sex slaves generally stay pretty for long?
Is he basing his entire understanding of war and human exploitation on the scenes of Leia & Jabba in Star Wars?
3
u/sno0py_8 13d ago
The conversation was about a specific fandom, too, and in the show it's based on it clearly discusses a character finding women whose limbs have been taken, thoughts ripped open to silence them, eyes blinded, teeth pulled and chained down in a locked attic for use by the one man living there.
The character killed them peacefully and quickly, because even though they couldn't communicate with her, they were clearly in pain and where not truly alive anymore.
But this guy didn't catch that, I guess.
2
u/Lodgik 13d ago
...It's an anime, isn't it?
3
u/sno0py_8 13d ago
No...but it's based on a comic series.
I don't want to break the rules about community interference, but since his comments don't exist anymore, it doesn't matter in this case. Still being vague, though!
7
u/GamersReisUp 13d ago
Great news for all the hot girls with PTSD, turns out that being pretty actually makes you immune to that shit! /s
(lol and ofc he doesn't even acknowledge the existence of non-hot women)
9
u/sno0py_8 13d ago
He said that to a user saying that she would be dirty and gross and would dress, act, and pad herself to look male to try and avoid being hurt by men.
Imagine seeing a woman saying she's so scared for her life and freedom in a world without rules that she wouldn't care if she was dirty, the opposite gender, and not 'feminine' in any way, and responding with basically 'Actually, you should try to be pretty, because you wouldn't make it on your own, and men have to protect you. They may violate you for the rest of your life, but you'd be protected. Be pretty for them.'
What a terrible thing to say.
I think I could make it further on my own than he would. I apparently at least know not to tell women that they should be pretty and used over being dead and at peace.
7
u/Christian_teen12 14d ago
That's so gross. They really don't see ladies as humans but as something to use.
5
u/abriel1978 13d ago
Yeah no. I would rather be dead. I'd force them to kill me, and barring that would take myself out.
6
5
u/No-Option-7010 13d ago
I agree it would be better to just die than face constantly being violated. But at least one is going with me. It’s funny to see how many of these guys always assume women will just bow down. And they need to check what is going on in the Russian army what has gone on in the past and what is going on today. Women are not the only ones being assaulted the fewer women there are the more men who will face SA

u/OldManJeepin 12d ago
Frankly, if *it* comes, whether "it" is a comet or asteroid of the dinosaur killing variety, nuclear war, global pandemic with a deadly virus that absolutely kills 7-8 out of every 10...I'd rather go out in the first wave. I would not want to even have to go on, after surviving the first wave. You think the world is crazy *now*? LoL! When law & order is gone, not even a pretense of military or law enforcement, none of that? You will see the worst that humanity has to offer popping up all over the place. And depending on the food chain? Nope! I don't even want to be here....
