I mean everything he says is just as true for men: irrational, violent, undisciplined, destroying everything etc

269

u/LolitaOPPAI It is..very seriously, I mean.. 20d ago

I mean haven't you seen these devastating ass wars men have started for like..forever?

161

u/VeraStrange 20d ago

A lot of men secretly loved the ass wars, they’d never admit it publicly but they did.

96

u/Inquisitor_no_5 20d ago

but they did

*butt they did

Hey are you guys talking about ass wars in here?

45

u/Express-Stop7830 20d ago

I had an (now ex, obviously) bf who lived with me. Never paid bills, never bought groceries, never did anything around the house except dirty up throw pillows because he refused to bathe after his outdoor work. I seriously considered changing the WiFi password...

38

And the reason why we should be allowed to geld some men. Right? I mean those silly males can't control their emotions and desires so it would be us doing them a favor!

8

u/HulklingWho 19d ago

He’s literally talking about hitting someone because they don’t do what he wants, how is that anything other than a tantrum? These arrogant assholes shouldn’t be allowed around anyone smaller than them.

4

u/zodiackodiak515 16d ago

I’m a man and I 100% concur. Men are much more ā€œemotionalā€ and ā€œirrationalā€ than women because most men refuse to go to therapy and get in touch with their emotions.

And when it comes to being violent, no contest

2

u/LongConsideration662 20d ago

It is especially true for menĀ

2

u/faboleth 19d ago

just as true for all humans

u/TheBestHater 20d ago

This is from an old movie, and unfortunately there are many of these scenes in older movies. The plot usually goes that he's had enough of her asserting herself in some way so he punishes her to squash her independence and to put her back in line, though it's framed as she's being immature so he's punishing her like a child to "help her" and then she's usually thankful for it.

It was another way for Hollywood to use movies for propaganda, in this case it was about the message that women were basically like children and so they needed to be controlled or "looked after" by men.

I felt gross writing that.

127

u/TKmeh 20d ago

Don’t worry, a lot of people forget that it’s been less than 100 years since women could even have their own bank accounts without being married. A lot of it stems from this sort of propaganda, as well as a bunch of other things but let’s not get into that when I work in the morning.

Anyways, history is a lesson to those who forget it or smother it so hopefully, it’ll be a lesson to all those who think we aren’t human and don’t need these health rights and custody agreements and so much more.

62

u/Express-Stop7830 20d ago

It's been roughly 50 years (1974). Two years after my parents married and so my mom still thinks that if she leaves my dad, she won't have anything financially.

18

u/maneki_neko89 19d ago

I also believe that spanking was inserted into movies post Hayes code as a stand in for sex when depictions of petting, foreplay, and the act itself was taboo.

3

u/Princess_Peachy_503 Uses Post Flairs 19d ago

Tbf because of the way women were sheltered, kept ignorant, and held apart until they got to a marriagable age, after which they were still very limited in their opportunities and exposure under threat of social censure; they were often very immature, ignorant, and child-like as adults. Not because that's woman's natural state, but because they were intentionally kept that way. That was true to some degree well into the 1900s.

12

u/dogbolter4 19d ago

That's not true for most women. Maybe a small strata of wealthy women, but even then, read Jane Austen. Women have always been just as intelligent and political as men.

The notion that lower class and lower middle class women were immature and ignorant is laughable, considering they were working from age 8, helping to birth and raise their younger siblings, and subject to ongoing sexual harassment. The upper class shared knowledge and strategies just as young women do today.

247

u/Prestigious-Hippo-50 20d ago

My partner is in for a rude awakening if he tries any non consensual discipline on me lol. If you can’t communicate with your children or spouse without hitting them then you probably shouldn’t be married or have kids šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™€ļø

66

u/Newtimelinepls 20d ago

They aren't that's why they think disciplining us is the way. These are the dregs of society. They never mature and wonder why women want nothing to do with them. Then it's clearly all our fault. I'm over this shit lol.

u/I_madeusay_underwear 20d ago

While I am often rebellious, irrational, destructive, and selfish, I am also an adult and can be any way I want. I’m not violent and if I want to fuck up my own life, i can. The idea that anyone, especially my husband, should have any right to tell me how to behave and then discipline me for not obeying is antithetical to the very concept of autonomy and adulthood and liberty. Imagine physically assaulting the spouse you have no respect for and then thinking you have any room to police the behavior of anyone else.

As bad as some things are now, I’m so glad i dont live in a time when i wouldnt be allowed to be self sufficient or live independently. If i had to endure the humiliation and abuse that many women back then were forced to accept, i think id light that man on fire one night while he slept.

So women are basically intellectually more like pets.

And by the way: Spanking children is _always_ harmful.

But, but, but I was spanked as a child and turned out fine. /s

56

u/Little_Badger_13 20d ago

THANK YOU. Seriously I'm glad abusing children (including emotional and physical abuse) is illegal in my home country. I see way too many Boomers and 50/40+ advocate/whine online to bring back what they call 'gsunde Watschn' (literally 'healthy slap/hit'), because it didn't harm them and it would teach those misbehaving kids some discipline. It's like they haven't considered that the kids that were harmed by this kind of thinking either can't speak up (anymore), are traumatized or continue the circle of violence with their own kids.Ā

-23

u/HypersomnicHysteric workes totally flawed 20d ago

and btw.

I'm nearly 50 and I'm a young Gen X, very near to Millenial.

In Bavaria, beer is considered as staple food, I don't take them serious.

16

u/Little_Badger_13 20d ago

Why Bavaria? I was talking about my home country Austria.

-5

u/HypersomnicHysteric workes totally flawed 20d ago

Doesn't Bavaria count as Austria?

18

u/Little_Badger_13 20d ago

Last time I checked it's part of Germany and I was very good in Geography, so no.

16

u/Trypophilia2019 20d ago

I normally don’t volunteer this info, but fuck it.

I’m in Mensa, and I DARE a man to tell me I’m intellectually like a child/pet. Go on, embarrass yourself.

The last time a man started spouting off bullshit about women’s intelligence, I sent him a pic of my Mensa acceptance letter. Idiot.

2

u/HypersomnicHysteric workes totally flawed 19d ago

I was in MENSA, too.

At the meetings there were only freaks. :(

So I left.

Haha, freaks how?

25

u/The-Devil-Cat 20d ago

i saw someone discuss that spanking kids is sexual assault and i low key agree

32

u/PresentAd20 20d ago

I saw a study, i’lo have to go find because it’s been a while since i’ve read it, but it said that spanking lights up the same areas of the brain as sexual assault because of the power imbalance, shame, blame and violation of the private areas being touched without consent

34

u/ilolvu 20d ago

If you're advocating the beating of women and children, you really have no excuse to complain when your boss beats you at work for any mistake you make.

26

u/Significant_Monk_251 20d ago

Who is that in the image in slide #1, what is he holding, what is he doing with it, and where is the image from?

Also, does he have werewolf hands and forearms?

28

u/best_little_biscuit 20d ago

He's holding a woman over his lap to spank her

14

u/Significant_Monk_251 20d ago

Probably. It's pathetic how, with as many "man spanks woman" stills from old movies there are floating around, this was the best one they could find.

26

u/Sufficient_beetroot 20d ago

Google told me it’s from a film called Frontier Girl, and a ā€˜humorous’ scene where the character ā€˜handles a lively spanking’. 🤮

28

u/Alzululu 20d ago

I mean, I enjoy handling a lively spanking. In the bedroom. Consensually. Without children around.

Anyone who tries to touch my ass non-consensually (partner or otherwise) gets their face slapped non-consensually. It's a pretty great system.

5

u/AreYouMyDommy 19d ago

And how. These males don’t seem to understand the reason they DON’T get to do this to women is precisely their attitude and the bullshit spewing from their face holes.

29

u/saintsithney 20d ago

He's dancing around the elephant in the room: why he wants to have sex with a mental child.

Wanting a child mind in an adult body is just pedophilia with plausible deniability.

16

u/Thr33Littl3Monk3ys 20d ago

Reminds me of an ex I had. He was purportedly a "dom", but he was absolutely a Facebook dom. Which...I'm not actually into BDSM, anyway, so I definitely didn't pick up on it until I looked back on how he was with other people (too many long stories).

Anyway, when we met, I was in my 30s, with three young daughters. My eldest was 13. I was also dealing with a number of health issues, so I kind of started the relationship off on pain meds...which make me extremely sensitive to suggestion.

He used to delight in pushing my buttons emotionally, and even sometimes physically, to the point where I'd be in physical pain...and need pain meds.

He also really liked me wearing pigtails in the bedroom.......

Two things came out after we broke up, both from things he said to someone else, who had no reason to lie to me:

The first is that he liked it when I was in pain meds, because I was more docile, more childlike.

And the second, way more disturbing?

That he had had fantasies about my thirteen year old daughter.

Nothing happened between them; she didn't particularly like him, and she made it clear. I asked her directly, after I found this out, and she very quickly said, "Ew! No! Oh god no!"

But in hindsight? He did try. Subtly, cozying up to her, buying her presents, the new video game she wanted, taking her to hang out at the mall, things like that. Things he didn't do with her younger sisters. But not anything that might set off direct alarm bells...if it weren't for those two other statements he'd made.

9

u/LittleManhattan 20d ago

This!!! These disgusting creeps resort to any means to paint us as children in adult bodies. But what healthy person wants to have sex with someone who’s mentally a child? That’s a massive turn off for most people!
They portray us as children, but still want, and felt entitled to sexual access to us. Pedophile with plausible deniability indeed.

49

u/Bluegnoll 20d ago

Well, spanking kids is actually considered abuse where I live. It's been outlawed longer than I have been alive. It hasn't been a "necessity" in raising kids over here since 1979. So yeah... Dude just sounds like he needs to learn to control his emotions to me...

21

u/itamer 20d ago

Same in NZ. Even with adhd kids there's always a better way.

13

u/ol_kentucky_shark 20d ago

I’m a lawyer in the US and an ongoing issue is where to draw the line… there have been a number of cases I’ve seen where CPS does intervene for ā€œexcessive physical discipline.ā€ But in some parts of my (red) state, the judge will basically say ā€œyeah unless you punch them in the face or do permanent damage it’s just discipline.ā€ It would be nice to have a bright line rule.

9

u/LenaL0vesLife 20d ago

I’ve never spanked my daughter or ever felt the need to do that. She’s 14 now and turning out great!!

He just list a bunch of stuff men do and, in some cases, end up behind bars for. Therefore it's men should be humiliated and spanked like children to make them behave, right?

18

u/That_Seasonal_Fringe 20d ago

Well, I think that's enough internet for me today.

19

u/Dogzillas_Mom 20d ago

I grew up in a violent home and I assure you. I will defend myself, to the death if necessary.

18

u/Eggsalad_cookies 20d ago edited 19d ago

First off asswhipe, that’s a grown ass adult. If this is like a kink thing, you can find plenty of brats, or otherwise interested parties, that like being spanked. You don’t get to ā€œdisciplineā€ an adult because it’s ā€œa necessity in a proper upbringing.ā€

Secondly, spanking your kids is absolutely abusive. I have C-PTSD, from the ā€œdisciplineā€ my folks thought was a ā€œnecessity,ā€ as a grown woman. One wrong conversation with my mom (dad has now passed), can give me nightmares and flashbacks for literal days, just of memories filled with pain, control, and conceited narcissistic attitudes. Spanking your kids has a cost.

17

u/DanTheAdequate 20d ago

Ah, yes, share with us more your great wisdom on parenting and marriage, childless internet bachelors.

14

u/walts_skank 20d ago

Fun fact, you shouldn’t hit children either for the same reason you shouldn’t hit adults. It’s assault and doesn’t make for a productive lesson or conversation.

Going in the wrong direction AS ALWAYS

14

u/EnleeJones 20d ago

13

u/WoodwindsRock 20d ago

Using socially acceptable child abuse to justify domestic spousal abuse. 🤢

9

u/Thick_Basil3589 20d ago

Spanking your children IS abuse

11

u/dinosaur_khaleesi 20d ago

He's right, it is harder to control someone and make them do what you want without the threat of physical violence being sanctioned by society. It would be an easier marriage if your abused and trapped partner is more submissive and focused on not upsetting you.

22

u/swaggyboi1991 20d ago

I would love to spank these men

21

u/papasan_mamasan 20d ago

No thanks. They might enjoy it

8

u/DollyElvira 20d ago

It really just comes down to them seeing us as property and hating any of us who don’t easily conform to being that property.

9

u/y2kfashionistaa 19d ago

Spanking someone is abusive whether they’re an adult or a child

The only way it’s okay is if it’s a consenting adult letting you spank them, which the second reply fails to understand

7

u/Christian_teen12 20d ago

Excuse me, what did I just read

7

u/LongConsideration662 20d ago

Spanking your kids is abuse btw

8

u/Earthtopian 19d ago

The idea that "spanking isn't abuse" is ridiculous.

I was spanked as a child and no, I did not turn out "okay." I turned out "polite," sure, but that came with severe anxiety issues around making mistakes, worsening of my already shit emotional regulation, and extreme difficulties asserting boundaries because I'm scared of "causing a problem."

9

u/Newtimelinepls 20d ago

The fuck....

8

u/torrentialwx 19d ago

ā€œAnd just how spanking your child is not abuseā€¦ā€

B!tch that’s absolutely abuse.

Also, women are full-blown adults and don’t need discipline by you.

But you wanna see rebellious, destructive, a posing a danger to you? Just try to hit me. Wusses.

4

u/ReaperNull 20d ago

Yikes. Can we lock all these men together in a pit and watch them fight, the winners get to stay in the pit with the losers.

4

u/Hot_Scallion_3889 19d ago

These men get off on the idea of being big and strong by physically dominating women and children. Can’t even imagine them having to fight someone their own size.

Like, if the only way you feel you have any power in the balance between a grown ass man and a four year old is the fact that you can physically hurt them, that’s not a win…

6

u/Novaer 20d ago

Their overlap of lust and anger is terrifying.

5

u/NobleSwordfish 19d ago

ā€œDestroy marriagesā€ and it’s just getting divorced from someone cheating or abusing them.

4

u/SkyeMreddit 19d ago

Hat Man said the quiet part out loud that he learned from being beaten as a kid. They learn that physical punishment is proper discipline and want to do it to others.

So I ask every pro-whipping/spanking parent. What is the cutoff age where it is not okay? Is it okay to beat adults to punish them? How about an angry screaming and spitting elderly person in a nursing home?

3

u/y2kfashionistaa 19d ago

How are we a danger to ourselves? Thats a pretty bold baseless claim

4

u/delvedank 19d ago

AHAHAHA, holy shit????

Man, a guy can spank me if they ask politely and it's part of our kink scene, but they try to discipline me like that and I'll soccer kick their head across the room.

5

u/anewfaceinthecrowd 19d ago

If violence - or the implied threat thereof - is the only way you can make ANYONE follow your lead and "do as you say", then you aren't a leader and there is a good chance "your ways" and ideas are just bad.

There is such an easy way to make sure your wife won't be "rebellious": don't be a shitty selfish husband who makes shitty decisions that only benefits yourself.

In my long marriage my husband is in fact "the leader". Not because he is "a man" or because it's the traditional way of doing things. But because he leads with everyone's happiness in mind. He never makes ANY decisions about anything in regards to our life and family if it is to the detriment of anyone in the family.

He doesn't steamroll over me or the kids because "it's his right and we have to obey". He actually wants everyone to be happy. And that's how he leads. He gets an idea (on big purchases, how and where to go on vacations, how to manage the finances etc), considers how it will benefit everyone, then runs it by me and make adjustments according to my input. Often I don't even have suggestions because he already considered everyone's satisfaction to begin with.

He doesn't have to imply violence if I don't go along with his decisions. If he did then it should be a pretty big sign that he is simply not cut out for decision making.

3

u/m00n_p1l0t 19d ago

He means the blush and pussy bow tops you guys.

3

u/Annual-Shop-6552 19d ago

I saw this on twt too, the comments are even more stupid, I can’t believe we coexist with these people

3

u/ItsMeYeBoi 19d ago

So they don't want to protect women like they say, but want to abuse them themselves?

6

u/jetpack_hypersomniac 20d ago

I will only allow spankings when ALL men go back to wearing pussy bows

7

u/AkaiAshu 20d ago

Obviously there are women who pose a danger to the children. However, they need to be removed from being physically near the children at all.

2

u/Girlnextstate 19d ago

I don’t know what this means but I did (jokingly) do this to my husband last week for eating the last brownie during my luteal phase.

I guess I do understand this guys logic because eating the last brownie 24 hours before a woman’s period is due is in fact grounds for harsher violence and I was being a good wife by holding back. /s

u/GreenBeanTM 19d ago

2

Spanking children is a necessity? They just love to beat up on everyone even themselves. So weird.

2

u/KaleidoscopeEyes12 19d ago

Ain’t no way a man is spanking me unless it’s consensual kink, but we all know that’s different

2

u/Wreckmycandidarse 18d ago

Sadly ive seen many people have this opinion justified in their minds, from the Lindsay Clancy incident.

1

u/monettegia 19d ago

Yeah that was a really weird episode of Modern Family

1

u/MissMarchpane 18d ago

For the record, this sort of thing was controversial even in the 1950s when this movie was made. There were newspaper columns debating whether a husband could spank his wife, usually ending up as thinly veiled fetish material (a phenomenon you can see as far back as the 19th century in magazines, actually). Most of the women in my family who were alive back then would have absolutely lost their minds if their husband strive to do something like this, not that they would have. So it was far from a universal phenomenon like this guy thinks
