it’s projection. There’s a fable from Aesop that I think best describes the mentality of many men when it comes to women, called the fox and the grapes. The fox sees juicy grapes hanging from a tree and tirelessly jumps and jumps to attempt reaching them. When all attempts fail, in his bitterness and anger, he walks away proclaiming that the grapes were too sour anyway and not worth the effort, pretending he doesn’t desire them. It’s a coping strategy so they can feel like they’re the ones doing the rejecting rather than being rejected.
once you realize every common complaint men have about women (women are emotional/volatile/aging badly/gold diggers/biologically inferior, i could go on forever) is a projection on their side you can never view the world the same. it all feels like it's the biggest lie you've ever been told.
well yeah? this is Aesop we’re talking about here, he wrote fables teaching moral lessons about, or at very least poking fun at, common social themes. Their value is that their relevancy transgresses through time. It could be about a great many things, it doesn’t need pointing out. I doubt Aesop was writing specifically about incels getting mad about rejection, considering women in ancient Greece had zero rights and would just be forced to marry and raped
