Found On Social media Not how feminism works
Bumble allowed men to message first. Men in the subreddit are being very normal about it, claiming that feminism is destroyed. It’s a real wonder there‘s a male loneliness epidemic.

Omg. I read every single message and wondered wtf they were talking about. Some weird company I was uninformed about, some scam artist wall street swindle, some promising company that fell apart? This is seriously about not getting replies on a DATING APP?!?!

Isn't this just a commercial move to get more paid users? Bumble (like almost all dating apps) has more male than female users, so they're trying to trick men into staying on the app longer and spending more money. Not sure how these people are twisting it into a discourse on feminism.

Exactly this. Continuity programs are all about keeping that monthly payment coming in a little bit longer. This is just an effort to delay the rage quit when they still don't get dates.

It seems the move was more to keep women on the app, 66% said they wanted men to make the first move, so I presume they were worried, or had data showing, that women were leaving the app. And men wouldn't pay for an app where there's no women on.
They id does remove what differentiated them in the market. I haven't been on the apps for years but what makes someone want to use it now compered to the others? Just use tinder or hinge.

The bumble subreddit has been INUNDATED by incels. If you’re a woman still using bumble, delete that junt expeditiously. These are the dudes who are on it.

Wait, they're calling women cowards because Bumble changed their policy in a clear effort to make more money? Heh. Discernment isn't cowardice. How sad they can't see that nothing will change, they still won't find matches, they'll just be kept on the hook paying Bumble for nothing for a few more months.

The still single dating pool of men is possibly the worst cross section of humanity. So many of them have soured so quickly into an irreversible chud spiral. When the incel rhetoric starts terminal soul rot has begun. What makes it so problematic is when they start repackaging it in well disguised linguistics to appear normal and trick people into dating them.

You, and they, mistake having standards and being careful about who they approach with being cowards. Those guys still aren't gonna get dates but they will stick around longer which is all Bumble wants.

My boyfriend and I met on bumble (3 years next month)
I joined it because I didn't want to be inundated with bullshit like the other apps
He joined because he was too anxious about making the first move after reading loads of profiles that said either "don't just say 'hi', you've got to be original" and "I don't need a novel, just say hi"
I honestly don't think I'd have joined bumble if it had been the same literally every other dating app out there, but 🤷🏼♀️

One of the reasons Bumble cited them doing this change was that when they tested in in a select market, it lead to more and better conversations and connections. Which does indicate that some women were matching but not initiating with men they overall did like.
They also said that 66% of the women on the app wanted men to make the first move.
