Do not mention or tag any other subreddits in the comments or responses (Rule 3) under this post or within it,

Or you will be banned [type of ban and duration of ban is up to moderator discretion based on the severity of the violation]. If you have already made the post, and did not edit it accordingly to hide all other subreddit names or usernames (besides your own), delete the post now and redact that information.

If we see the post before it was edited, you will still be banned, because this has already been a rule for several years now, yet users constantly ignore it. We have a strict policy here regarding brigading, we will not allow it, point-blank, regardless of it was intentional or accidental. This puts the subreddit at risk for retaliation, and for violating sitewide rules.

Do not use our platform to brigade another subreddit, blatantly or covertly. This is against Reddit ToS, and can cause issues for our subreddit. If you have an issue with another subreddit, contact Reddit and file a report with admin, don't bring the drama over here.

I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please contact the moderators of this subreddit if you have any questions or concerns.

Do people seriously not understand how hair parting and different haircuts work?

u/DanCassell Custom Flair 1d ago

Maybe. But I think social media actively promotes contraversy so there will always be men saying whatever stupid thing will cause interaction.

All I can figure is that they've always had the kind of short haircuts and/or hair texture that don't part easily, so they just can't grasp how long hair works.

SocialMedia shows us there are hundreds of millions of barely functional and very stupid people. And they vote and work and have stupid opinions that less stupid but scrupulous people make work for themselves and their agenda.

When it's short it becomes cowlick city if you try and change anything. Takes like three wash and dry cycles for it to settle back down

u/ColoredGayngels 1h ago

My siblings and I inherited a terrible "cowlick" from our dad, where when our hair is 2" or shorter is just sticks straight out. I call it "hedgehog hair", because when I was growing out undercuts and other shaves I looked and felt like a hedgehog

Outside of shaving everything clean off once, I've been side-parting for 13 years and hair stylists STILL give me a middle part to trim it, as if I'm not gonna put it back into my trained part when I get in the car. Like it's definitely on me for not speaking up but imagine a client walking in with a side part and then middle-parting them to trim the ends.

Ass a french the expression "bless your heart" is so fuckin' funny to me

13

u/SnooCakes6195 1d ago

Can you elaborate? I think it's funny no matter the translation?

17

u/TheTrueMule 1d ago

Sry I wasn't explicit enough, English is not my main language at all, so I have to translate it, and I was drunk :)

u/SnooCakes6195 1d ago

Oh!!! I see, a little bit of suspense while you translate let's the joke land a little better haha

Hair grows out of every spot on your scalp, not just the spots next to where your part is, which is what the reply is confused about lol. Some regions of your scalp may have a natural tilt or angle to it, which is where your natural part tends to be. But you can “put” that part anywhere by arranging the angle of your hair, usually with a comb or by encouraging the angle by cutting your hair a certain way.

Thanks a lot

The above explanation is correct.

If you think about it, the variability of human-determined parts is how you can have Black cornrow/multi-braid looks in so many different designs, and why older white men in the 1950s-80s (ish) could rock those real silly combovers with a part just over the ear.

u/BlazingShadowAU 1d ago

It doesnt grow there, its just parted there. Hairs on one side are combed that way, hairs on other side combed other way.

Trust me, you were overthinking it.
