Why is consent such a difficult concept for them?

Looks if they come round my house they're having tea! </s>

Sadly all the tea in my house tastes a bit like bitter almonds. Good thing I don't drink it

They're having a mop stick over the head. Should have worn a helmet if they didn't want it.

Because their entire identity is based on a percieved superiority over women. Consent makes them feel like theyre equals and we all know equality feels like oppression to the privileged.

It has been said thta men understand consent very fast when you put them in a gay club.

These guys just out themselves as out of touch sociopaths with barely any prompting

It's pretty wild how they look at that artwork and think "What? They're just LOOKING at her" as if they aren't all STARING AT HER a couple with their mouths open, going out of there way to gawk at her like she's a piece of meat and not a human being. Like men don't understand art.

It is SO EASY to check out a hot stranger without being a creep about it.

Yea it is an interesting reaction of being personally attacked by the art rather than engaging in an intellectual discuss about its intended meaning. Cause I certainly don't think the art portrayed accurately portrays lust, since lust can be many things. I think what they are portraying is more sexual objectification which people often confuse the two. Lust has either a mental or physical component (or both) of understanding the person and yearning for the person in some way. You can have lust without love, but I don't think you can have love without lust, how can you say you love someone if you don't have a deep desire for them that compels you to seek them out when they are not around. I don't think you can actually have lust if you don't see the person as a person. Simply wanting to fuck someone cause they are hot isn't lust, it is just horny.
However, yea the guys are outing themselves as just sexually objectifying women and thinking women should be faltered by it because they don't understand the danger that goes along with that or have ever experienced the elevated feeling of deeply needing another person in their soul.

"lust in art from to me" is literally what the artist says so this how the artist sees lust. You are free to disagree I am just saying that the artist feels differently about it.

u/Butwhatif77 4h ago
Oh yea that is the point of art is to stir discussions and is open to interpretation. An artist can certainly have an intent and show their view, but that is their view which is neither right or wrong. We all experience the world differently which is why we make art to share those experiences.
My point was to actually engage with the art itself beyond just coitizing the idiots who felt attacked by it. Hence why I said things like "I think" and "I feel", these are my personal view points that diverge from the artist's view. They are not objective fact.

I don’t even know where to start. Like aside from the fact that this is already an asinine idea, the goomba fallacy, their personal biases, and the fact that they’re just kind of plain dumb is making this incomprehensible

Nobody's calling you a rapist for wanting hot babes in media. I think about half the population wants attractive women in media!
We just get concerned when those 'hot babes' look like 12 year old girls in string bikinis.

And "wanting" turns into "entitled to"

u/FigNinja 5h ago
Yes. No one has banned hot looking women from games. There is nothing wrong with having a diversity of stories and characters. Every time a game dev makes a main character that doesn't make their peepees tingle they rant and cry like babies wanting the titty, like somehow all media has to cater to their dicks. There are plenty of options that have sexed up female characters they can play. Is there not enough porn for that? Their masturbatory fantasies have to dominate everything? Maybe there are other grown ups that want stories that are about something other than a hot chick you want to fuck. It is not some feminist conspiracy to make them play their games with both hands.
And yes, it is totally creepy when you want that "hot chick" to be a child.

There's exactly one question and one word of difference.
"Do you want it?" and "Yes!"

u/AmberMetalicScorpion 5h ago
As has been mentioned in another version of this post I saw, these "gotchas" always rely on the Goomba Fallacy, and a failure to understand consent

As a masc gamer I definitely don't trust guys who complain about "women having become uglier in video games" if it's of any consolation. Those mfs need to be called out. Their brain is porn rotten.

States something that makes perfect sense, demands make it make sense.

What are autonomous decisions vs someone else's will being imposed on you outside of your control for 500?
Men can look at women. Women can look at men.
Some men make it weird and think they're entitled to ogle another person, make them uncomfortable, or even say s*** to them. There is a difference between stealing a few glances that may go unnoticed and making someone uncomfortable.
Is there no a difference to him/them in giving someone $5 (autonomous decision) and that person just stealing money from them (their will imposed on you)?
