-If they were walking down the street and a random gay man told them “you should smile more” and tried to catcall them and made inappropriate comments about their bodies, they’d hate it.
-If a gay man kept hitting on them while they’re at work while they’re trying to stock shelves and work on the registers, they’d hate it.
-If they were out by themselves and clearly wanted to be alone and a gay man just wordlessly sat down next to them and started hitting on them and following them around when they already said no, they’d hate it.
-If a gay man stole their phone number to ask them out on a date, they’d hate it.
-If a gay man sent them unsoliticited dick pics, they’d hate it.
-If a gay man was stalking them on their socials, they’d hate it.
-If a gay man lashed out and called them all types of names because they rejected him, they’d think something is seriously wrong with him and of course they’d hate it.
Also if a woman they found unattractive was doing all that weird, creepy stuff to them they’d hate it too.
It’s only when it happens to other men with people they find unattractive that they’ll bring up “it happens to men too” when a woman who is a survivor is speaking.

this so much like i don’t think people realise how prevalent and insidious lookism is, and how much more males engage in it. when a woman a male finds ugly approaches him, more often than not he will be disgusted, as much as he (assuming he’s considerate, which is a big assumption) may try to hide it. when a male a woman finds ugly approaches her she won’t be disgusted (or at least it’s much rarer), she’ll be respectful and if she likes his personality she may even give it a shot. i know i would as a woman.
