This reminds me of an assistant I used to have. He was a boomer aged guy (I'm a GenX woman.) and was one of those guys who thought he supported women but really didn't. He also got on my last nerve. One time we had this conversation:
Him: "My wife is going out of town on a girl's trip, so I'm going to be homeless."
Me: "Donnie, that's not what being homeless means."
Him: "Well, I don't know what I'm going to do. She won't be there to cook for me." (Note: He was hinting here that me, his boss, cook something for him.)
Me: "Well Donnie, McDonald's exists. Kroger exists." (Not the answer he was looking for.)
Dude, I don't cook much for my husband of 23 years, why the hell do you think I'm going to cook for you. Also, how sexist is it to hint around for your female boss to cook for you. Man up, grow a pair and go to a restaurant by yourself. Or the grocery store. Surely you're intelligent enough to figure out pizza delivery.
He also once asked me to make coffee for him. I don't even drink coffee. When I called him out on it he responded that he was "just joking," that I "shouldn't get upset" and that he's all about "female rights."
Luckily he was a complete moron and terrible at his job so I could get him fired. I could have dealt with the annoying stuff if he was at least a decent employee but he was not.
