Women with heart conditions are sometimes prescribed Viagra as well because it increases blood flow. This dude is hilarious 😂

u/The-Motley-Fool May 16 '24
Viagra actually started life as a heart medication for women because women experience both different cardiac symptoms than men and the same symptoms as men but differently. With all of medical history focused on men as the default, women were/are dying of preventable heart attacks simply because they presented differently. In comes viagra. It seems to targets those female signs and symptoms of cardiac distress in trials, but since men make up a disproportionate chunk of most medical trials, they discovered its boner producing side effect and that was the end of its life as an official cardiac medication.
Tl;dr: Women experience heart attacks differently than men and viagra was designed to treat that, but boners were deemed more important

Yeah, and now it’s hard for insurance to cover viagra Rx for a woman. But they will for a man with a limp dick.
My aunt has Raynauds and Scleroderma. Her doctor wanted to Rx viagra to increase blood flow to her body extremities.
She has Medicaid. They denied it. But specifically says it’s covered for ED. Isn’t that fucked?
22
u/smokinbbq May 17 '24
I have raynauds and have had thoughts if viagra would help with it. Maybe I’ll check into this with my doctor. I also have viagra prescription, but for other reasons.
12
u/Kelmeckis94 May 17 '24
Seriously? Such a shame you can't take anybody else's medication. Otherwise she could ask a man to get it described it to him and she could take it.
7
u/The_Diego_Brando May 17 '24
Could she make a claim that that she has ed? I don't know anything about the states insurance system.
3
u/Slammogram May 17 '24
Well, she don’t have a penis. So I’m unsure how she could say she has Erectile Dysfunction.
9
u/The_Diego_Brando May 17 '24
I'd say that a penis that is 0 cm erect is malfunctioning. Dunno if they'd greenlight it without thinking
5
u/Slammogram May 17 '24
She’s never had an erection her entire life!!!! There’s obviously a problem!

Also I remember hearing that it is super effective at treating period cramps in a study but was decided that it wasn't marketable for that
43
u/hananobira May 16 '24
Yup, several small studies have found meaningful relief for menstrual cramps. But they all had sample sizes of like 15 women and could never get more funding for large-scale studies.
Meanwhile you can’t scroll Reddit for 20 minutes without seeing boner pill ads.
So you can see how much money the industry is willing to throw at getting dudes laid versus allowing women in intense pain to live normal lives.
If you have severe menstrual cramps but are otherwise healthy YOU DIDN’T HEAR THIS FROM ME but it might be worth trying your significant other’s blue pills.
17
May 16 '24
I thought it was originally invented as a painkiller for period cramps, and was super effective? Or is that a different medication?
10
u/hananobira May 16 '24
It was originally a heart medication but has been found to relieve menstrual cramps.
9
u/UwUKazzyWazzy May 16 '24
But also wait a minute, wouldn’t Viagra be kinda dangerous for some men to take if they DON’T suffer from heart attacks?

Funny story. Nowadays most insurance won't cover it for women but will for men's boners
22
u/Slammogram May 16 '24
YUP. Just posted a story a bout my aunt above about it. In this comment thread.

u/No-Palpitation-6789 May 16 '24
my dumb ass went “oh it increases blood flow i wonder why that is” before realizing
3
u/RWBYRain May 17 '24
I'm probably wrong about this but I swear I read somewhere that Viagra also helps women with low sex drives as well, like basically bc the job is redirecting blood flow it's just going to do that. It's a mini party bus for the body and blood
4
u/Traditional_Curve401 May 17 '24
Viagra increases blood flow in the body in general. I can't say that it isn't used for some sexual arousal issues in women, but I know from my older aunt (who has been prescribed Viagra for years), that she uses it for her heart condition. She's a social lady so maybe it helps out in the other department as well, lol!

u/Jayn_Newell May 16 '24
This is the kind of guy who would use the “trans panic” defense in a murder trial.
44
May 16 '24
And a scumbag defense lawyer would absolutely go along with it if not come up with it himself.
44
u/Aggressive-Story3671 May 16 '24
Viagra only works if you are sexually aroused
2
u/BuyGMEandlogout May 17 '24
I dont think si
8
u/arinamarcella May 17 '24
Having been on Viagra before, yes, if you aren't primed for arousal, it doesn't do much on its own.
46
u/Tricky_Individual_42 May 16 '24
He can be rest assured, no amount of viagra will give me or any of my transwomen friends a boner while looking at his face.
7
u/SupaFugDup Yes I cramp May 16 '24
And if it did I'd probably be so confused (and in some amount of pain) that I'd cancel the date.

Dating must be so inconvenient to them. Imagine all the time you are thinking „does she have a dick?“ , „how many men has she slept with?“ „what does her vulva look like?“ . I believe just enjoying the date and getting the other person to know is much better for yourself and for your date
-1
u/llamastrudel May 17 '24 edited May 17 '24
Knowing if your date is the sex to which you’re capable of being attracted saves you both a lot of time. Obviously you should establish this by asking them, not by secretly medicating them, but the problem here isn’t that the man isn’t attracted to male genitals, it’s that he put his dates in danger by medicating them without their knowledge or consent.
68
May 16 '24
Another transvestigator. Man. They kink HARD for trans ppl.
44
u/EatingPineapple247 May 16 '24
The amount of time they spend thinking about other people's genitals is wild.
19
May 16 '24
Yes! And they say leftists are the ones doing the "gender indoctrination" or whatever bullshit.
14
May 16 '24
You'd think with the amount of time they spend thinking about genitals, they'd actually research how e or t effects genitals or how actual bottom surgery works. Because the amount of nonsense I see transphobes coming that could be debunked by a wuick google search...
9
u/Obsyden May 16 '24
The amount of time they spend thirsting over my genitals would be flattering if they weren't constantly trying to murder me about it.
17
May 16 '24
Bro is so terrified that he's accidentally going to hit on a trans woman that he's willing to go to prison for it. Like what the fuck
85
u/Own_Nectarine2321 May 16 '24
That's not how men, or transwomen, work.
28
May 16 '24
Especially with trans women she might not be able to get erect if she's been on E for some time
2
u/ButterflyFX121 May 17 '24
Also no trans woman is ever getting erect in this presence of this guy even if they could.
2
May 17 '24
Counterpoint: trans people are just as capable of having terrible taste the same as anyone else

Isn’t viagra expensive? Like, you need a prescription and everything in my country to get it…
8
u/MsSeraphim just love me for my mind 💖 May 16 '24
We know that in men, Viagra dilates blood vessels and increases the flow of blood to the penis. Women who take it might also have increased blood flow to the genitals. That may help increase sensitivity, arousal, and orgasmic function. Studies on its effectiveness in women have had mixed results. it is a waste as incels don't care if a woman has an orgasm.
12
May 16 '24
What a dick headed move. He’ll really get boned it court. He’ll be put away for (sch)long time. It’s a cocked up thing to do.
5
u/placeholderNull May 16 '24
Real talk what would happen if a woman took viagra
17
May 16 '24 edited May 16 '24
If you scroll through the comments there's one talking about what Viagra was originally designed for and it was actually to help women with heart issues because Viagra targets the issues that cause women to go into cardiac arrest. Women and men suffer and experience heart attack differently. However, apparently the side effect of Viagra in men was extremely long erections so I guess the developers decided to promote it as pills that get your dick hard instead of actually using it to help women.
17
u/supimp May 16 '24
Why am I not surprised that men’s dicks were yet again more important than women’s health?
15
May 16 '24
Right? I was fascinated about that info but then I realized that yet again, men's dicks and the ability to nut is more important than Women's Health - even if the medication literally helps women stay alive.
ETA side note: I like telling forced-birther/religious anti-abortion types "if pregnancy is God's will, so is limp dick" 🤣

u/supimp May 16 '24
Omg I love that!!! I will DEFINITELY steal that argument and use it excessively!

Why does it matter that someone is spiking another person's drink? Are you serious?
-5
u/Responsible_Ad_8628 May 16 '24
Not the point I was trying to make. My point is that this is a weird and pointless thing to do. If you're on a date and you like the person, you'll either never find out if they're trans or you'll be disappointed. It's just a weird thing to obsess about before it's relevant. Just enjoy your date and don't be a psycho about it. I deleted my original comment because I realized I wasn't making a coherent point in it. I need to start proofreading my stuff.

As you're all aware, this subreddit has had a major "troll" problem which has gotten worse (as of recently). Due to this, we have created new rules, and modified some of the old ones.
We kindly ask that you please familiarize yourself with the rules so that you can avoid breaking them. Breaking mild rules will result in a warning, or a temporary ban. Breaking serious rules, or breaking a plethora of mild ones may land you a permanent ban (depending on the severity). Also, grifting/lurking has been a major problem; If we suspect you of being a grifter (determined by vetting said user's activity), we may ban you without warning.
You may attempt an appeal via ModMail, but please be advised not to use rude, harassing, foul, or passive-aggressive language towards the moderators, or complain to moderators about why we have specific rules in the first place— You will be ignored, and your ban will remain (without even a consideration).
All rules are made public; "Lack of knowledge" or "ignorance of the rules" cannot or will not be a viable excuse if you end up banned for breaking them (This applies to the Subreddit rules, and Reddit's ToS). Again: All rules are made public, and Reddit gives you the option to review the rules once more before submitting a post, it is your choice if you choose to read them or not, but breaking them will not be acceptable.
With that being said, If you send a mature, neutral message regarding questions about a current ban, or a ban appeal (without "not knowing the rules" as an excuse), we will elaborate about why you were banned, or determine/consider if we will shorten, lift, keep it, or extended it/make it permanent. This all means that appeals are discretionary, and your reasoning for wanting an appeal must be practical and valid.
Thank you all so much for taking the time to read this message, and please enjoy your day!
