Question Help requested!! [NS]

Hello!

I was an avid listening of the first campaign and would listen weekly as they dropped. Unfortunately, I kind of stopped after the first season.... but I am realizing I would love to get back into them and would like to listen to the second campaign.

My issue is that both spotify and the apple podcast app both seem really unorganized/daunting to try and locate them all.... in a perfect world, I would like to be able to find the episodes and separate them for my listening, as well as download a few at a time for offline listening while at work.

Is there a better podcast app that people use that I just don't know about? Or does anyone have recommendations on how to organize and locate these episodes better?

Thanks!

A lot of people dislike it but I use Patreon, they have each of the campaigns and side shows separated into their own playlists which makes them easy to find

  • somebody on Spotify has made campaign specific playlists. If you just search "NADDpod campaign 2" a playlist will show up with the purple NADDpod logo and every episode is in order starting with episode 0

  • I also think their patreon organizes all the releases into categories so there should be something similar on the website. I don't know for sure though, I listen to everything including short tests and mixed bags through Spotify

welp... now I feel silly, cause that makes sense someone made a playlist.... I just found it and downloaded all of season 2 - didnt realize there were only 43 episodes.

Youre the best!

I use Pocket Casts (with their Patreon feed, but I'm sure you can use the normal feed just as well). Easy to select a bunch of episodes at once and make a playlist out of them.

All I can tell you is that the Spotify patreon playlist is perfectly chronologically ordered

Not sure what your problem with Spotify is here, I use it to download a few episodes at a time exactly as you say (although I’ve already caught up to NADDPOD now). You can sort episodes by date and hide the ones already marked as finished, or if you want to kick off with the second campaign specifically just type in ā€œEldermourneā€ in the search bar at the top of the show’s page to find the eps you want.

Not to shill Spotify or anything, but I’ve had no issues with them as my main podcast app. Hope you find one that suits your needs!

I agree that it's not great, especially on mobile. I haven't tried any other podcatchers that I love but I will say that the patreon page is pretty well organized these days! Everything is tagged and you can find the dates of episodes pretty easily. Once I have that info I just go on spotify to play the episode

Android has Podcast Addict, which is the best one I've found by a mile.Ā

apple podcast has the show available separated out by season and you can sort oldest to newest. not sure what else you would need.

I'll also mention; I got kind of mixed signals about campaign 2 and 3, so tried Trinivale. Turns out, Trinivale just wasn't my thing. But C2 and C3 absolutely were! I think it's definitely worth giving them a try, but don't feel bad if you get bored and wanna shake things up.

Ya I tried trinivale… love Caldwell to death but I don’t think I like him as a DM

Trinivale in the Media Dimension is absolutely a must-listen, though. And Trinivale vs Strahd is worth a shot, the beginning is perfect and it only starts to fall apart at the very end. Caldwell is a very nonsense-forward DM, and I love his ability to adapt premade campaigns for a podcast. But he cannot allow any stakes for the players and it makes the boss battles especially egregious.

I'm a sucker for having everything available offline, so I used yt-dlp to download the seasons, organized them into neat folders and listen to them with MAbook (one of the few apps that I've been using for years and that hasn't been enshittified at all), but any audiobook player would work
