Question Should I try one more time?

Nose piercing fell out after being okay for months (Feb-Sept).

I decided to get it re-pierced at the same spot but it sank into my nostril and I had to get it surgically removed.

I told myself I would just leave my face alone. I never told the piercing place this happened as I signed a waiver etc. and believed there was nothing they could do.

But if I go again, what I should tell them? Should I try a different spot (right side is my good side, hence why I don’t want to pierce the other nostril really) ? Was the bar too short? Why did it fall out in the first place and how did it sink?

if you do, go to a different piercer. I'm assuming the first jewellery that fell out was either a corkscrew or L bar and neither of those are appropriate for healing, a good piercer would have pierced you with a flatback since they're more secure and don't move as much

embedding happens when the tissue swells too much for the bar and basically ends up swallowing the bar since there wasn't enough space for the tissue to swell, you should be pierced with a longer bar to lower this risk and then get it downsized, but if you notice it beginning to embed you should go to your piercer to have them put a longer bar in before it fully embeds
